Laissez les bons temps rouler

Jake Gyllenhaal is continuing his rock and roll idyll with his musical idols, taking in the sights of New Orleans (Riverwalk and steamboat cruise) yesterday with Marcus Mumford and other band members.

And today, he's enjoying the tunes at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, where Mumford performed. Jake with Mumford band member Winston Marshall enjoying the Avett Brothers:

I saw the first photo last night. Happy to see that Jake is having great fun with Mumford & Sons!
Thanks, UV.

Yeah, I found them last night but didn't have time all day to do a post. Love that first pic. He's so into this experience.

Some tweets from today:

Just met all 4 Mumford & Sons, gave Jake Gyllenhaal a high five, and patted Olivia Wilde on the shoulder(13 from House).

Just had all of mumford and sons, avett bros, and Jake gyllenhal in front of me #whileidancedlikecrazy #sodidthey

Nice angle at Jazz Fest Pic. Jakey is so close to me, first Austin and now New Orleans. I love you Jakey but I am too old to stalk you.

I am glad he is having fun, I need to stop obsessing over his box office because he doesn't have a care in the world by looks of the pics and tweets from the last week. It just goes to show, once you become a Jake fan, you can become really attached to him and want nothing but the best for him.

Love ya Jake but not that way.

I think SC has done solid box office. There was a story the other day about movies like it and the Lincoln Lawyer that are still doing well.

From tonight:

Eating at the French Market on New Orleans and Jake Gyllenhaal is 3 tables away from me!!!

Didn't he shave his head?

Yes, shaved head but still HOT! :)

I don't disagree, I was just commenting on how fans can be more obsessive over box office than the actors themselves. It was not meant as an insult, just an observation on Jake's carefree attitude.

But then too I am obsessed over the Boston Celtics and how many points they score. I'm a dedicated fan.

I did not post because I had a headache!

Uv, backstage photos are not from New Orleans. They are from Texas.
Can anyone tell me what is this musical instrument that Jake is playing?

In the last photo of backstage ,noticed that the girl is wearing a ring similar to Kate Midleton!

Speaking of Kate, she was beautiful!

UltraViolet said...

Oops. I knew that. Thanks, Monica. Will edit.

That looks like a tambourine, Monica. Are there other photos of that? Is that from NO?

Monica said...

Only this picture. It's from Texas.

UltraViolet said...

Oh too bad there aren't more. Thanks for linking it!

Sweet Jake, I agree with you that we can take a lesson from Jake. He seems to deal with some of these things much more calmly. Then again, it's his life and he knows what's going on in it!

Speaking of obsessing, I just saw that L&OD went over the $100 million mark worldwide. That's pretty cool, especially for a $30 million movie.

I added a photo of Jake and the fan who saw him at the French Market.

Jakes having the time of his life and good for him! Hanging with his favorite band while on tour, joining in on stage for a jam, the NOLA Jazz fest, he is so lucky he can do this.

I love all the pics and reports, rock on Jake!

wonderful pics, UV. I love how Jake is enjoying himself. I wouldn't mind hanging around like that with my fave band (until Jake starting jamming with M&S I'd never heard of them)

Who is the guy in the banadana that Jake is giving that strange look to?

thanks for all the tweet reports and pics

mary said...

thanks for all the pics and tweets jake is having a blast i think mumford and sons play in memephis tonight wonder if he continue to travel with them

I noticed in that interview they showed a pic that was not of Jake but one that was photoshopped (the one of him in bed taking off his briefs)

I hope SC does well in India and the other countries it is being released in.

Paula said...

Thanks so much for all the updates here , I think I have enjoyed Jake's ride as much as he is if that's possible!

That is fantastic news regarding LAOD and SC has done really well, it was in the top 10 here for 4 weeks, I'm sure Summit, Jake and Duncan are pleased with the sucess.

Monica said...

Sweet Jakey, we all want Jake to be a box office success, because it is very important to this industry, unfortunately. It should be about talent, but is not.

Anon, I think this guy with the bandana is a friend of the band Edward Sharpe. There are pictures on his album in another show of this band.

From Twitter:

"Apparently Jake Gyllenhaal was at @mfmfarmersmkt 20 mins ago?"
7mins ago

That would be the Memphis Farmers Market. : ) The 5th Mumford! LOL!

Tweety said...

We will be seeing a lot of tweets from Memphis this weekend:

@samsmithNC you are about to freak- Jake Gyllenhaal (sp) is downtown at the coffee shop by Arcade. Hurry!

He really has become the 5th Mumford!

UltraViolet said...

Yup, tweety. People seem excited, lol.

I saw a tweet from someone saying Jake walked by his house and I thought, "Memphis?" And sure enough, Jake has gone to what I think is Mumford's last stop.

And nice to see the country-wide CZ. Pinkeberry last night in NO; the farmers market today in Memphis.

Added some photos from IHJ of Jake and one of the Mumfords yesterday at the Jazz Festival.

MidtownBike: Just rented a bike to #Jake Gyllenhaal. #Downtown Memphis is cool.

Thanks for all the updates. From the M&S website they will be in Missouri and Arkansas in June. then they'll be heading for the UK at the end of June.

I'm glad Jake was able to have some fun. He is always so upbeat, I wouldn't mind hanging out with him.

ok i hate to be the one to ask...and i don't hate on or judge no matter the awnser....but is jake gay? i can't for the life of me figure it out for sure and he's all abotu winston marshall...

Monica said...

Great photos with Winston Marshall. Jake is having a great time!

Morgan C Darling said...

......i mean i just find it weird how in love with the band he is and how close he seems to the guy.

Extra said...

These are the first pics I have seen of Jake and Winston together so it's odd that you would say he is close to the guy unless you have seen other pics of Jake and Winston.

There are more pics of Jake and Marcus Mumford. Jake is living out what most of of wish IMO Hanging out with their fav band and getting to jam with them on stage, Jake plays several musical instruments and I suspect he would love to belong or start his own group.

SC came in @ #10 Friday and I think it will come in @ 11 for the weekend, not bad.

The Grammy Awards had the Mumfords & Avett Brothers together..they did their songs then Bob Dylan came out and they all played together. I know ITunes and such the next day had a big surge for Mumford & Sons and Avett Brothers.
The Avett's have the same type of passion for music and combinations of types of music.
Jake loves music as he can play the guitar and sing and has loved music all his life so this is such a thrill for him, as we all can see.

i was just curious...i mean with the ever constant whispers about his sexuality always following him around "hollywood" i always find it strange when he decides to go out in public and interact so closely with another guy. the fact that he and winston were linking arms just struck me as odd. maybe it's just a manly bonding thing, what would i know, i'm not a guy. anyway, you're probably right about him enjoying following his favorite band around and playing onstage with them. i just thought i'd ask if anyone knew a definitive answer on his sexuality. thank you for responding.

Anonymous said...

For "Morgan" - just ask Adam Levine who has known Jake since they were kids at school...He's tired of it and so maybe the answer you'd get would not be what you want to hear.

Morgan C Darling said...

Anonymous -

No I know Adam said he's not gay...I'd hope that he's not gay....so what would I not want to hear?

Anonymous said...

I don't know - it just had the sort of sound like - he has linked arms with another guy..might mean he's gay..and even just bringing the subject up has the sound of what some have done - meaning he must be.
There are guys who are affectionate people and it's not difficult for them to hug..or put arms around each other and that is all it means.

Morgan C Darling said...

well thanks for the response! :) you're probably right, and i wouldn't doubt that they're all running high on a testosterone fest with the whole touring thing and what not so the hugs and arm linkings are like some sort of brotherhoodness bonding shit! haha i'm just a silly girl that likes to think that mr. gyllenhaal could be my bf one day! ;) wah wah

Eye roll said...

Yup. Linking arms at a concert. He must be gay.

Jake and Q107.5's Drex backstage at the Beale Street Music Festival.

bobbyanna said...

FL, that English "D" might be for Drex, but it's a dead ringer for the Detroit Tigers baseball cap in my front hall closet! : )

Does anyone know if Malloy is still around? I'm wondering if his doc was abut the RRTour or about Mumford&Sons.

FL said...

Certainly looks like a Tigers' cap to me, B. :-)

As far as I know, Malloy was filming the docu about the historic train tour; since it's over I don't think he's around anymore.

FL said...

A couple of tweets that made me smile, only because we've been watching the ground swell for these guys since last week.

Sure did underestimate Mumford and Sons' popularity. Crowd at BL stage is massive.

...

Mumford and Sons are drawing the biggest crowd yet at the Beale Street Music Festival, beating Cake, MGMT, Jason Mraz, and Jerry Lee Lewis.

Pretty cool for them.

Tweety said...

Looks like Jake is practicing to join them on stage again and LOL at the dude trying to hop thr fnce, the crowd looks massive:

Non seq. But CSPAN is rerunning the White House Correspondents dinner. I didn't see obama's speech but he's on now and is pretty funny. I saw the end of Seth Meyers and he was killing Trump and the president. A little nervous but funny.

bobbyanna said...

I watched, UV. It was pretty funny. Seth and the President double-teamed Trump. I hate to admit, but I've been watching wedding re-runs, too. Beautiful music of another kind.

Monica said...

I'll miss this adventure of Jake with the Mumford & Sons. There were great moments for us and should have been much more to Jake.
Thanks for the picture of Jake playing trumpet, tweety.

UltraViolet said...

Oh, tweety, that's too bad. Maybe they'll meet up again at that vegan cafe!

Monica, this has been so much fun to watch. And probably a hundred times more fun to experience. Very happy for Jake.

FL, it's been very interesting to see all this develop. It's always a heady time for a band, going from indie/unknown to major success. I hope they navigate it well.

UltraViolet said...

LOL At the badger comment, OONP. And Bobbyanna, I bet you wish it was Jake in the Tigers hat!

Hi to chica, Paula and Mary, too :) Extra, thanks for dealing with the "guest." ;)
