Anger management, Anna Kournikova and eternal happiness

Stop me if you've heard this before, but we have more videos of Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway promoting Love & Other Drugs. The film is now playing in some European locales, so more people are getting to enjoy Jamie and Maggie.

The Guardian blocked their video of Jake and Anne discussing their roles in L&OD and the secret of eternal happiness but you can watch it on their site.

Here's a Sky News interview with the pair:

Not Neutrality; Don't Forget Joy

Santa keeps bringing gifts, even though Christmas has passed. We have a few more videos from the Love & Other Drugs promo tour. First, Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway tell us how they were planning to spend Christmas together :)

Jake gushes about Anne, who has her mind on other things:

The BBC gives us an extended visit with the pair, as they "exchange" gifts with the interviewer. It's nine minutes of fun! Someone from ISJ uploaded it in five parts, if you can't watch the whole clip on the BBC site:

Next up, Jake goes all cosmic on us:

The AP caught up with Jake, in classic Gyllenbabble form, and asked him about turning 30:

And Jake discusses Source Code and a possible PoP sequel:

Merry Christmas to all!

It's been a little hectic in these parts, so we will have to go with some GB classic Christmas greetings:

Wishing everyone a peaceful, happy and joyous holiday.

And because it never EVER gets old, Jake doing the Santa Dance.

Hope Santa was good to everyone who was waiting for him. Thank you to all GBers, old and new, vocal and lurking, for all the good wishes and Christmas cheer!

Those three little words

We have a few more video interviews with Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway from their Love & Other Drugs promotional world tour. And since the movie is all about love, they ask Jake and Anne when they first said ILY:

Watch Jake try to say it in Korean:

Love's no fun without sex, right? Here, Jake tells us he'd do Julianne Moore. Cinematically.

If you missed it, here's a clip of Jake and Anne's London press conference. And WDW uploaded Jake's appearance on Daybreak.

A couple of new clips: Jake and Anne on BBC Radio 1. And a brief clip of Jake talking about his love of cookbooks.

They look mad!

Phlebotomist's dream arms.

Even onscreen, Jake likes brown footwear.

30 for 30

30 - the natural number following 29 and preceding 31.

30 - the minimum age for United States senators.

30 - the number of tracks on the Beatles' White Album.

30 - the address of Rockefeller Plaza in NYC where SNL is taped.

30 - the second point gained in the game of tennis.

The Frisky compiled a list of 30 things every man should have by the age of 30. Looks like Jake has ticked off quite a few of those already. Yay for Jake! Some examples:

1. A skin care regimen. C’mon guys, healthy complexions aren’t just for metrosexuals!

6. A tailored suit.

10. A trusted barber or hair stylist.

8. A smile he uses generously.

27. A great razor.

30. At least one sex move he’s received lots of positive feedback on.

Or 30 must-have life skills before turning 30. Some more examples:

7. dance a “slow dance” without looking like an idiot

25. hold a baby

28. make dogs and cats love you

29. help someone (an older or ill person, a woman you’re trying to impress, your mother) out of a car
. . .

[Still awaiting this picture]

Finally, to complement the free apps he must already have on his new iPhone 4 (Yelp, Urbanspoon, OpenTable, Shazam) he might be
interested in these essential 30 free apps compiled by TechRadar.

And Jake, no longer will you be able to use the phrase "Don't trust anyone over thirty".

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Better late than never

It's important to get dirty with the one you love.

Jake Gyllenhaal is in the French edition of Premiere this month. Thanks to Lisebeth, a poster on IHJ, we have scans as well as the new photo above.

Jake opines that American audiences are not as puritanical as many believe and expresses his hope that movies can portray love and sex more realistically. He also says he has no regrets about Prince of Persia. I'm happy someone asked him about that.

I haven't figured out how to upload this video yet, so I can't embed it. But definitely go watch. It's seven minutes of Jake and Anne at their best.

Jake is proudly that they made the reporter cry during the movie.

The reporter also reveals that she bought them as a couple so much that she wishes Jake and Anne were together in real life.

Jake admits he's not making sense. Anne says they are jet-lagged.

At the end, the reporter discusses sexuality in the movie, and Jake talks about the need for adventure in the bedroom. Anne laughs knowingly at his Gyllenbabble.

I do wish someone would ask if they talked about so many different positions and turn-ons, why the sex isn't more daring in the film. Not the nudity - that's bold. But most of the actual fake sex is pretty missionary.

Cute video of Jake and Anne with Australian journalist Alicia Malone. She's a big Jake fan :)

In case you missed the news, Source Code will open the South By Southwest Film Festival on March 11, 2011.

The lightness of being Jake

Jake Gyllenhaal on his and Anne Hathaway's Golden Globe nominations for Love & Other Drugs:

"I think we tend to think of really interesting, great performances as soul-tearing things. I think Annie and I go to places like that, but ultimately, it's not about the darkness of the soul, but the lightness of it."

The frightening photographer did manage to get some lovely shots of Jake yesterday:

Here's Jake's official statement:

“I’m genuinely excited that the HFPA has recognized both Annie and me for our work in 'Love & Other Drugs.' I’ve always felt the movie is a classic romance because it’s about the nature of love. So, in acknowledging the performances, the HFPA is affirming the heart of the film and the voice and talent of our great director Ed Zwick. I am also deeply honored to be in the company of so many other amazing actors this year, a category with two Johnny Depps, a Paul Giamatti, and a Kevin Spacey.”

Jake on Extra and Access Hollywood, reacting to his GG nod:

Here's Jake on E!, mixed in with other niminees. You can see him at approximately 15 seconds and then again at 1:35 or so.

Get me out of here!

Golden Boy

Congratulation to Jake Gyllenhaal on his first Golden Globe nomination. Jake was nominated as Best Actor in a musical or comedy for Love & Other Drugs. Costar Anne Hathaway was also nominated for her role in the film. Sadly, the movie itself did not get a nod.

Jake and Anne react to their nominations.

The ceremony will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2011.

Jake and Anne toast their nominations.

There's a beauty in whatever you are

Update with two new photos from the EW photoshoot:

The Love & Other Drugs promotion seems to be gearing up. The Daily Mail has a Jake Gyllenhaal interview that appears to be a mix of greatest hits and new answers. No new pics, though, so we'll sprinkle in more from Sydney.

My parents taught me to feel comfortable about my body. They told me there's a beauty in whatever you are. Also I feel it's very important to portray love and sex in the right way.

I used to go to the gym. I don't any more. I just like being active, breaking a sweat. If someone says, "Do you want to go and hike this mountain?", I'll just go and do it.

I don't have children, so I can still be selfish and say, "I'm going to go and be on my bike for three hours." I ride mostly Trek bicycles - a Madone. I ride in Manhattan. You usually get where you're going faster, but I've gone to many a big meeting sweating, with people thinking I'm a creepy person.

I rode L'Alpe d'Huez, which is one of the stages on the Tour de France, and that was a pretty intense climb, one of the best rides I've had in my life. And there's nothing more beautiful than riding through redwoods in Northern California, cutting in and out of thousand-year-old trees.

I definitely have an alpha-male aspect to me, because if I see someone up a long way ahead I always try to catch him; but mostly I just like the solitude. It's something my father instilled in me when I was a young boy. In the morning before school he would wake me up and we'd go on runs together. I still run - almost barefoot at the moment - just enjoying being physical, being active and being outside.

'Family is ultimately what I want. That's all that matters to me in the end.'
He also says that friendship is important. The untimely death of his Brokeback Mountain co-star Heath Ledger in 2008 affected him deeply.

'I do miss him...' Gyllenhaal stops mid-flow, looking emotional.

'There was an intimacy that we all shared on that film - I'd never experienced anything like it. It was just us by this river in Calgary for a month, in the middle of nowhere. There were no hotels to stay in, so we lived in trailers out there in the wilds. We would make coffee together in the morning, eat together and sometimes we'd ride horses to work. We were out there alone and all we had was each other.'

Apparently Source Code has an official site. The trailer's the only thing there yet, but we did get a new still from the movie, courtesy of IHJ:
