City whirl

It's Source Code Saturday, so all of America should be flocking to theaters to see this great movie! While that's happening, we can take a look back at Jake Gyllenhaal's Big Apple week, as well as some video interviews from the SC junkets.

Jake and Furries:

Jake talks to JoBlo:

Jake interviewed by BigFanBoy:

Jake up close at the LA premiere:

Jake discussing concussing.

Another group interview. The reporter is a Jake fan :)

Jake, Michelle and Duncan introduce the film at the Regal E-Walk in Times Square Friday night:

Posting this in a hurry - will post some more photos when I return.

From someone at the book of Mormon:

HeyJPK: Others in the theatre have finally noticed Jake Gyllenhaal during intermission. Jessie Tyler Ferguson no longer getting attention

Thaniks, UV. Lots of good stuff in these clips. Altho I don't guess FL would be too happy to know Jake is allergic to cats! :)

One thing I forgot to mention before is the music for Sourfce Code. Really great soundtrack.

(Lastly, one of the clips in the past couple of days, Jake is talking about how much he'd love to do the Joe Namath biopic. So that sounds like it's still alive in some fashion.)

Not at all surprised he picked Book of Mormon. :)

Thank you for your report, Chica. So Jake is one of the producers? Good job Jake.

I think 15 million is pretty good for a science fiction movie. And for a movie that was poorly marketed.
I am very happy to see that many, many people are loving the movie. Jake and Duncan should be happy.

Jake Gyllenhaal & director Duncan Jones swung by Lincoln Theatre AMC in the UWS to say hi & promote their movie: Source Code

Hope to see more works of these two together.

I saw SC this afternoon and it's one of the best movies I have seen this year.

Jake was outstanding. He was perfect as the very confused and heroic soldier. The direction was tight, fast-paced and exciting.

My wife liked it a bit less and said that he played like an episode of Quantim Leap. Well I liked QL but this had much more going for it.

I don't want to add any more since it will get too spoilerish, but please go out and see it, you won't be disappointed.

Hopefully WOM will give it a healthy BO run. 15 mil. is nice and I didn't think it would beat HOP.

Just a reminder that the NY Post reported the rumor that Jake might make a surprise appearance on SNL tonight. I have no idea if this will really happen.

I saw the cat allergy in the summary for one of those vids and then never watched the actual video, I don't think! Do you remember which it was, bobbyanna?

I think they should be proud, too, Monica. I hole they are. And I hope you get to see the movie soon!

Duncan tweeted that halfway through the weekend, things look pretty good. Hope it gets big crowds tonight

I think it will really happen. This tweet must be from the full dress rehearsal:

My power was out, and it just came back on. I saw Tom Hanks in Laser Cat, but no Jake. Hope I haven't missed it.

UltraViolet said...

Nope, you haven't missed him, Bobbyanna. But you've missed a couple of other Tom Hanks bits. I think he's the helper-host, since Elton is also the musical guest.

Oh, Mary, I'm sure it will be on youtube almost instantly, so if you fall asleep, you'll be covered!

Mary, they are unfortunately going to keep you waiting until an hour in. Jake appears at the end of Weekend Update. Very funny skit with him and "Nicolas Cage."

Funny the guy playing Nic Cage looked more like Keneau Reeves which probably would have been funnier.

bobbyanna said...

Well, I saw him on Weekend Update with "Nic Cage" Started out OK with the dig about Cage making two movies a month, etc. but I didn't care for the spot. Love the audience screaming for Jake!:)

They went straight to a Cource Code commercial, which I appreciated. Jake and Duncan sure are working hard to promote this movie.

well so far im still awake thanks for the updates

I was hoping Jake would do the second intro for Elton John and Leon Russell. But it's fun to see his name trending on twitter.

I thought the Weekend Update bit was funny, Bobbyanna. It would have been more fun to see him in a real skit, but I'm guessing he didn't have time for that this week.

It was fun to hear the crowd when they realized it was really Jake.

Stay strong, Mary!

The Samuel Jackson line was funny, UV! I wish they would have included Jake in Laser Cats with Tom Hanks. The ad placement for SC is getting noticed on Twitter!LOL!

I thought Jake & Duncan, etc. were going overseas for Source Code? Madrid & Berlin?
