Let Jake sing you to sleep

UPDATE: Keeping up on the tip-top frame he chiseled out for his "Prince of Persia" role, Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted hitting the gym in Studio City, California on Thursday (June 3).

The 29-year-old actor definitely got in a proper workout session - as he left the gym all sweaty after attending a Pilates class.

Jake Gyllenhaal singing the song his father used to lull him to sleep when he was a boy:

This interlude came after an interview with Peter Travers of Rolling Stone. Jake covers very familiar ground, but we get to hear more of his Mike Newell impression. The setting is different, so that's something! And there is at least one behind the scenes short clip I hadn't seen before.

In case you missed it from the last post: A new PoP interview. Watch Jake feint fainting and generally just get punchy:

From Jordan Mechner's sketchbook. The first is of one of the famous scenes from PoP; the second done on the private plane taking the PoP crew to Moscow:

Peter Travers is one of my favorite critics.
Jake has a beautiful voice!

My friend saw Prince of Persia and said the film is very good. The session was full and the audience received the film very well, and cheered and laughed with the couple Dastan and Tamina.
He said he was surprised with the performance of Jake, who had moments when he forgot that Jake was on the scene.

Oh what a good report, Monica. I hope your dog is better and that you can see the movie tomorrow.

The funny thing is that I don't think Peter Travers liked the movie. At least from what I remember, Rolling Stone gave it a bad review. But I guess he was charmed by Jake or the spirit of the movie.

I remember that everyone who interviewed Jake liked him, but not everyone liked the movie.
The review by Peter Travers is good, not as bad as the reviews I read!

Wow! More riches! Smiling, sweaty beautiful Jake coming from a pilates class. Jake singing, (I remember that song! I remember Burl Ives! Oy!)and being absolutely charming!

I have loved Peter Travers for a long, long time. :)Great seeing him with Jake.

Monica, that's such a great report! I hope it does well. This weekend will be very critical.

My headache's almost gone, and the room stopped spinning, but I'm still hacking away. I wanted to try to see PoP this weekend, but not if I'm still sickish!

FL, we must send positive karma to the LAOD peeps so they'll realize they absolutely cannot edit Jake's ...image.

What a beautiful voice, and how touching that he has that memory of his father singing him that song.

He looks good, nice and sweaty and in a good mood, love the smile.

I wonder if he is at the Lakers/Celtics game tonight?

Love your report Monica, Oplan on seeing it sgsin too!

I hope Pop does well this weekend , it's still doing well overseas but here it has slipped into 3rd place on Tuesday and Wednsday.

Feel better Bobbyanna!

Isabel Lucas says she and Jake are just friends.

I'll have to read the Travers review, Monica. Good to hear it was positive. I defintely like him for getting Jake to sing that little bit!

It was discouraging to see PoP go below SatC this week, chica. I'm sort of steeling myself for it not to make up ground domestically. Still hoping, but trying to be realistic. Fingers crossed for a good weekend performance.

Glad you're feeling better, Bobbyanna. I hope you'll feel up to PoP this weekend.
