Oh, and I'm going to be in a movie. They're filming a movie called "Nailed" in Columbia right now. I sent my picture into the casting company a few days ago and they called me tonight to ask me if I wanted to be "the photographer at the funeral". So, of course I said yes! We'll see how all of that works out. I have to be there at 9:00 a.m., and possibly until 9:00 p.m. at night. This both worries me and excites me. But hey, maybe I'll get to see Jake Gyllenhaal in the flesh!
I'm guessing that the funeral is for the Speaker of the House who chokes on that cookie (am I the only one who sees the funny parallel with George W. Bush choking on a pretzel?). I'm also assuming that the reason they went back to the state house this week was because they finally recast the role of the speaker and shot his scenes.
FL, I "clicked to embiggen" and immediately felt very lightheaded! i was going to go get ready for bed...Nobody does CFM better then Jake. This picture is ...IMVHO...his "signature look."

Meant to add, even his hairstyle for this cannot disguise how gorgeous he is.
Perhaps they decided not to recast. Instead they'll just have a funeral with an extra playing the body, and not show the actual choking. It's possible they may have re-written the scene. OTOH, they may just hire an unknown local play The Speaker. Somebody who can cough and choke at the same time...a very special skill.
In those pictures, he looks more cunning then clueless.

I am halfway through the Brothers script. What a great role for Jake (not to mention Tobey and Natalie) - but the film will need a bit buzz and good critics - I am hoping for some film festivals, Toronto and Venice would be great.

This makes me laugh, a lot, because in the UK suspenders are the things we use to keep our stockings up - which is giving me a strange visual of Jakey having some, err, unusual, underwear on under that suit.

I literally got it 11 minutes ago so I have no idea if it's good or not. But I have all 128 pages of it.

To me he didn't seem that clueless, just kind of a big dope, have you ever seen Intolerable Cruelty? Clooney's character in that, reminds me a lot of Jake's character in Nailed.

Well if Jake is in it, they should be making an anouncement soon, it's suppose to start shooting next month according to all reports.
I thought that since Jessica plays the main character in Nailed that she would be required to be on set for most of the ten weeks, Jake may wrap his part in a few weeks and that would give him time in between to film POP.

Maggie Gyllenhaal will replace Toni Collette in Sam Mendes' untitled relationship comedy for Focus Features.
Film, which stars John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph, is about a young couple who travel around the U.S. searching for a place to put down roots. Dave Eggers and wife Vendela Vida penned the original screenplay.
Gyllenhaal will play a bohemian college professor who is an old friend of the character played by Krasinski.
Collette dropped out of the film due to scheduling delays on the shoot, which recently got under way in Connecticut. Gyllenhaal begins lensing her role next week.
Gyllenhaal next appears in Warner Bros. summer tentpole "The Dark Knight" as Rachel Dawes, Batman's love interest.
She is repped by CAA, Benderspink and attorney Alan Hergott.
BTW, this is the 2nd film that Jake was rumored to be attached to and Maggie ended up being in it. Remember the TDK and his named being mentioned as Harvey Dent Z(To be played by Aaron Eckhartin TDK) and now this.

Well, it was another gruelling day at the shoot. Jake Gyllenhall seems to be opening up a lot more and conversing with the older adults, he is a likable guy. He never seems to run out of enthusiasm and energy even after we've been on the shoot for almost 15 hours straight! I heard Reese Witherspoon was in town lately to meet up with him and Justin Timberlake has been around too so he could spend time with Jessica Biel.
I was wondering if Reese made a visit to the set. He said "in town lately". The last pap pics are of her coming out of a gym on Tuesday and I think she had the kids this past weekend. There are pap picsof Ryan picking Deacon up from pre-school on Wednesday. Could she have and still be in SC Wed/Thur/ and maybe until she has to go to DC for the walk??
JT was in NY on Wed. with Modanna, but I heard that he was sighted with Jessica as well after.
BTW: The blogger doesn't have nice things about Biel nor Tracy Morgan, seems to like Jake!

And thanks for the info on POP anon @ 7:02AM!! I find it odd that the actor in the article (Reece!) Ritchie auditioned for the part back in Jan. I thought they usually cast the lead 1st, not the supporting parts. Also that actor looks like he could play the lead, he seems up and coming as the article points out and although Jake is a bigger name, fan boys don't care who the lead is in movies like this.

I have to disagree here - for example, when Heath was cast as the Joker it caused a riot between the Batman fanboys. And if Jake will play Dastan, it will also cause mixed reactions and discussions. I have read through some messageboards during the last weeks......
And if Latinoreview is right and the offer went to Jake, there were surely negotiations before. And perhaps also auditions.
What makes me wonder is that the side is so sure - they do not even putting Jakes name with a question-mark or a "supposed". So where did they get their information from?
If it is true and done right, this could be a great opportunity for Jake like "Captain Sparrow" was for Johnny Depp and if Jake gets some space to work with the character it could be beyond the stereotypes of such blockbusters.
Fanboys care very much about casting, as those of us who sometimes hang out on the superhero boards (sad, I know) can confirm. Now, fanboys who "believed in" Heath as Joker and RDJ as Iron Man are patting themselves on the back.

TY for all the set information. I do love reading about energetic Jake, still going for 15 hours a day sometimes, and I am Glad to know Reese is visiting Jake...that has to help. I read once, that Matt Damon couldn't work away from home for long periods of time, if he didn't have his family with him.

So i'm guessing that he'll go right into shooting POP from shooting Nailed. Like I wrote yesterday, I seriously doubt that Jake will be shooting the entire time. It's likely he'll be done by June.
I wonder how long the POP shoot will last. I know that article revealled that he'll be shooting in Morrocco. But location shots are usually only PART of the shoot for those types of films. The other part, the majority part, being in some Los Angeles sound stage.
I think a little investigation is in order.

Is anybody worried this might effect Jake's relationship with Reese? They are such a cute couple, it's a shame if he might possibly be shooting back to back movies in London. Let's hope, like Brothers Spy said that some of it will be done in LA. There's no way Reese can follow to London full time because she has joint custody with Ryan. I mean they could work it out, but it will be tough.

IMO, this relationship is way beyond serious. I think, in a way, they're almost married right now.
Right after the 2007 Oscars, she jumps on a plane for NYC to meet him when he finishes promoting Zodiac,before he goes back to Morocco to work.
She goes to Paris to meet him after he goes to Cannes. She flew to New Mexico who knows how many times to be with him, and she's probably in North Carolina as we speak, not to mention at least two weeks on Martha's Vineyard last summer, one with kids one without.
She is willing to go where he is to be with him, and that's really major. The fact he spends time with her kids is majorly major!
At first I thought this might be a fling after she broke up with Ryan. A rebound romance. I worried about Jakey. But now I think it is the real deal. Totally.
So we will probably get more rumors where they might be working together. If Jakey goes to London, Reese will be there. I think Ryan is supposed to work in London, isn't he? So maybe it will all work out.

Reese's schedule is extremely light this summer, just the one voice over job AFAIK - obviously I'm saying nothing about any potential reasons for that ;-)

Reese was on the set of Nailed yesterday!:
"Yesterday on the set was crazy. I came in at 11:00 a.m. because that's when they told me to come when I left Thursday night but many people were there at 9:00 a.m. or 10. Apparently there were some issues because filming was held up most of the day. They didn't start shooting with us extra's till about 3:30 p.m. or so, then we had "lunch" at about 5:00 p.m.! Most of us were bored out of our minds but didn't have much to do except sit around and gossip...er, not that I personally gossip mind you...but you can't help what someone else insists on telling you. Well anyway, let me tell you what happened then! One of the people I was sitting next too during the filming said they saw Reece Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhall talking to each other across the street...the actors had their trailors across the street so they didn't have to hang out around caste members...oops! Did I accidentally type "caste" like the caste system in India where we extras would be like the untouchables? Well if I mispelled cast it was certainly an accident (wink! wink!). Anyway, around 11:30 p.m. Reece came into the shoot and walked right past me (escorted by one of the make-up people) and went over and stood in a corner waiting for Jake to finish his shooting. We had gone way over because of the issues I mentioned earlier and I think she was getting impatient. I was seated around a few girls in their early twenties and they were tickled pink to see Reece and kept leaning over to get a glance at her. I think she was probably just getting really impatient because once Jake finished shooting they took off out the back way together. Suzann came and visited me on the set during the big wait, she also tried to get onto the set for an extra role but they told her they didn't need anyone else. They decided to do an audience shot of the woman right in front of me! So I was in her shot just over her right shoulder. I actually had to act for real but it was good because I was bored and got to really ham it up. Some of the younger extras like to sit there and text message when they don't think anyone will see them. The girl sitting next to me was a good example, she would text message her friends that were sitting at other places in the audience and it was their way of chatting back and forth incognito. You have to watch out for some of the crew members who are assigned to catch extras doing something wrong. There is one guy I nicknamed Dwight Shroot (from the tv show "The Office") because he kind of looks like him and you can tell he loves to wield authority, even though he's low on the totem pole, but he's higher up the food chain then us extras and he likes to let us know it. When we were at the Colonial Center he loved to yell at the little girls on the set "HEY! NO RUNNING!" Anyway, my part in the shooting is over till June. Most of the extra's are done until then. I'm kind of tired of these 14 hour days anyway. Guess that's it for now boys and girls. More later."

You guys are awesome, seriously! I was worried, but now I'm not. You all made excellent points. I was really just worried because I know how much distance really destroyed Reese's last relationship. I get the feeling she doesn't do too well with distances. I have a feeling she'll bring the kids with her, and take off for London quite a bit.
Though Nancy, Prince of Persia is being touted as a trilogy of films. And he's being offered a possible flat rate of 40 million according to one article, so it can be assumed just like with LOTR, and some of the other trilogy films that the movies will be shot back to back. That's where I got the idea of a couple of movies being shot at once. Not that I'm saying they will do that, but it could be what they are aiming for.

Bette it's funny you mention that about POP. From all I have heard about it this is what I think will happen. I think they'll film the first one this summer. Jake will be paid $10 million for it. If it is successful, then I think they will film Parts 2 and 3 back-to-back and he will be paid $15 million for each ($30 million total).
I was thinking about this the other day. Jake will be making a lot of money for his next few pictures.
He got paid $10 million for Nailed and now $10 million for Prince of Persia. If successful, he will make another $30 million for the sequels. I'm not sure how much he made for Brothers, but I assume it was in the $5 to $10 million range as well.
$55 million to $60 million for Jake. Not too bad.
I think Reese will be doing a walk in Washington, sponsored by Avon, to support battered women on Sunday.
Ryan has the kids this weekend. I had a feeling she'd come out to see him.

Sounds like she has a really busy day on Sunday.

I agree with this but I am still worried. Those kids are little and they have a father who is very involved. Ryan and Reese have to do things with their personal schedules to make room for the kids. Those kids absolutely come first.
Situations will come up when Jake will be expected to adjust his schedule because of Reese demanding it for the kids' sake. It probably did already. But it can get more complicated and more demanding.
I think as much as they love each other, there's probably more stuff to work out in terms of the kids and where Jake fits in.
I would hate it if he was in a position of constantly making sacrifices to accomodate Reese about the kids and putting his own life and his own needs second, taking a back seat and being too accomodating...for the kids.
He would do it, too. I think he is very kind hearted and someone could easily take advantage without even meaning to.
Without getting into the dynamics of the relationship, because it really is none of our business, I have a feeling Jake knew he was getting involved with a family, and not just Reese, when they started dating. And I'm sure it's something he didn't enter into lightly.
They're both adults, they've been together well over a year; I think they have this crazy thing figured out by now. :-)
I don't think Jake is child being taken advantage of. I don't think he waits by the phone waiting for Reese to call. That's kind of silly. I think they're both into each other. There are times when they have to be apart: for films, kid events, etc. But they always seem to make time for one another. I think if we have discovered anything, it's that.
Reese and Ryan broke up TWO YEARS AGO. I seriously doubt that too many sacrifices are made at all at this point. I think Jake, the homebody, just hangs out at her house with them. When Ryan has the kids, which is often, then they go out or go away together. I think too many people make a simple situation more complicated than it has to be. It's clear that both Jake and Ryan's girlfriend, Abbie, are a part of the kids lives (given a few photos of Abbie with the kids during the holidays). I'm sure both were "eased" into the situation. But given that they've been around for a while now, more than a year, I don't think it's an issue at all anymore.
Jake and Reese seem very serious at this point.
As Reese's fan, I would hate it if Jake take advantage of Reese to cover up something and have his offsprings. if they broke up, Reese would have a lot males to mend her heart. same as Jake, he would have a lot females and males to mend his heart. Do NOT worry. They would be OK, if only they broke up fast enough.

If you're a fan of Reese's I would think you'd be happy for her and respect her decisions.
When I saw pap pics of Ryan and eacon on Wednesday I figured he had the kids for the week and she was in SC!
I think you have two intelligent stable, really good people here. I think they are committed to one another. Neither one seems like the kind of person who would be mean or selfish to take advantage of the other. This is silly.
I seriously doubt that Jake and Reese are going to break up anytime soon if they are spending every free moment they have together.
That's not usually a sign of a troubled relationship.
I think some people have to give that up. They've been predicting this for months with no success. Jake and Reese are in love. If you were a fan of either you'd be happy for them.
I hope these two have a fun weekend together in either South Carolina and/or Washington DC.
A lot of Reese’s fans have some sort of worry, but they know enough to keep their mouth shut until some of Jake’s fans are bold enough to accuse Reese taking advantage of him. In this case, you will have to excuse me; I can’t sit and see anyone bad-mouths or devalues Reese. You have to know Reese’s fans most likely have some sense of fairness. A lot of us admire her for her good personalities, hope she will be happy forever, and do not lust after her.
I'm a fan of Reese, her work mostly, but I do admire how she handles her personal life. Frankly, I know very little of her private life because she divulges so little. And true to form, we know very little of her relationship with Jake, even less so than her marriage because I think she realises the danger of letting the media and public into a high profile relationship. I find this is something her ex doesn't get, because he's still talking about their marriage problems to this day. And then he wonders why people speculate.
I think she looks happy and I wish them the best. It's not easy having a relationship in the Hollywood environment, so good luck to them. And I hope they continue to keep their relationship as private as possible.
Wow, VerboseExtra has turned into our best source! Now I'm sad that he won't be working again until June.
Love, love, love it that Reese was on set. Further proof that we don't need to worry about these two. Or their future offsprings.
