It's a grab bag post today, old and new. First up, Jake visiting the (victorious) home team locker room after the Celtics beat the Magic in May, 2010:
That's Rajon Rondo in front, then Kevin Garnett in back of him, with Glen (Big Baby) Davis on Jake's left.
Jake with a Belgian reporter, who seemed to think Jake wasn't forthcoming enough:
At least she got a half-smile out of him!
Fun video interview with a reporter who managed to ask different questions. Find out Jake's favorite TV show, what music he'd listen to if the end was near. And what he thinks of Portland:
Jake, Boston is the city you want to film in. Not Portland!
Also, these artists didn't make Jake's end-of-the-world playlist, but they are apparently on his iPod. He also says he still writes and plays music. (Not sure if the interview is new or taken from old interviews. A remix, perhaps?)
Jake Gyllenhaal at the Staples Center in Los Angeles last night:
"I'm too sexy for this game."
Jake meets up with an old friend.
Jake arriving at the Staples Center, with Adam Levine. Many other old friends, including Ellen Pompeo and Kirsten Dunst, were also in attendance.
And at the game:
After the game, Jake joined Adam and other friends at Dan Tana's. Ryan Phillippe was also there and not happy to see photographers. You can see Jake and Adam leaving at the end of this clip.
The vide says Ryan and Jake dined together, but the X17 photos say they just ran into each other. The commentary on both is, as always, ridiculous.
That's about it for the good news! It's always hard to be a gracious loser, especially when the winners are the Los Angeles Lakers and Kobe Bryant, in particular. But congratulations to L.A. on their 10th NBA championship.
Did Jake Gyllenhaal have a flashback to his Texas Longhorns days? Or is that the international signal for "sweep?"
Jake watched the Boston Celtics trounce the Orlando Magic in an NBA playoff game on Saturday night in Boston. He refused to choose between the Lakers and the Celtics, but did compliment the city's fans:
We know from Jake's Disney Radio stint that basketball is his preferred sport, but a Saturday night game, even a Celtics' blowout, isn't necessarily Jake's idea of the perfect weekend:
“I love hanging out with my friends. I love playing sports, being active, being outside. And my ideal weekend would be going for really long bike rides, I love going out into nature, maybe going for a hike. And eating really good food, because I like eating food that I grow.” The star added jokingly, “…and also jumping from building to building!” in reference to the action-packed “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.”
Well, he did get to hang out with friends! But I don't think Jake used any parkour moves to get to or from his courtside seats.
In case you weren't watching MTV Saturday morning, Stephanie uploaded Jake and Gemma's appearance on the 10 on Top show:
Yay, Stephanie - for being quoted and for not pigeonholing Jake! Finally, an apparent outtake from the New York Times Performers of the Year photoshoot:
No, it's not St. Paddy's Day. It's Jake Gyllenhaal celebrating the Boston Celtics 17th NBA title. A game which started, coincidentally enough, on the 17th.
Look how happy Jake is that the Celtics beat the Lakers! It'a a thing of beauty!
He's so happy for the Celtics he's even signing autographs. Better check that autograph. It might say Kevin Garnett.
Better watch out Jake, I think the Celtics fans are onto you.
Looks like Jake just remembered he was a Lakers fan.
If I squint, the print on his board shorts looks just like the Celtics shamrock logo!
Congratulations Boston Celtics on an amazing season and an awesome final!
