Fantastic

Update: Jake in L.A. on Saturday, with Atticus:

Jake Gyllenhaal has been spotted going to and from the gym/karate class over the past week, but you've all seen those. This is a Jake fan fest post. First up, Jake in L.A. on Wednesday night, I think at the Arclight:

Here's Jake in Memphis from his touring days:

A larger shot of Jake on the jazz cruise in New Orleans, courtesy of the Greendale, Wisconsin, marching band:

Some oldies. First, Jake and Paul Rudd at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

Not sure where this was taken:

And a couple of photos of Jake from his own fan-tasy tour. First up, practicing his trumpet skills:

Another group shot of the Austin crew:

Finally, a happy fifth anniversary to Jake Weird. Congrats and kudos, Kendra!

Lots of twitter sightings of Jake at Runyon Canyon on Saturday. The funniest was from Lacey Schwimmer, one of those Dancing with the Stars folks:

saw Jake Gyllenhaal @Runyon, 2time seein him 1time was on Regis&Kelly I tripped when I said hi. This time I had a dog strapped 2my chest fml

This one was also cute:

Spotted Jake Gylennhal at Runyon. Excercise IS important!!

I love the look on the face of the fan in the first photo, it's like yeah, look who I am posing with!

I do prefer Jake posing with fan pics, he looks really unhappy/annoyed in pap pics in the last year, here he looks happy and relaxed.

Love the trumpet pic and I remember the Jake and Paul sighting in DC at this museum, nice to finally see a pic show up!

He sounds like he is really getting into shape for EOW.

mary said...

thanks for the new pics and sightings UV sure is quiet in jake land so i do like all the updates and sightings to keep us updated.

Lacey Schwimmer is from moreno valley where i live my nephews went to high school with her

I enjoy the fan reactions to Jake, too. : )

Thanks for the new finds, UV.

It will NOT stop raining here.

I love the picture of him with trumpet. He was having a great time!
thank you.

Anonymous said...

when was that pic of him in DC taken? I live in the area

FL said...

End of June, '09.

Chica said...

The trumpet pic is the best ever, I hope the footage of him playing on stage makes it into the documentary.

Yeah, the pic with Jake and Paul Rudd was taken when Paul and Reese was filming How do you know.

Office of Nancy Pelosi said...

The fan with Jake in the first pic has a naughty look on her face and in the second fan pic, it's Jake with the naughty look:)

Love the fan pics and we are still getting dribs and drabs of pics from Jake's visit to DC 2 years ago, maybe one with him and the President will show up!

Internacional BO:
Summit’s Source Code ranked No. 2 in South Korea and No.3 in Australia, garnering $3.8 million overall on the weekend. International cume for the thriller starring Jake Gyllenhall stands at $51 million.

+ $52 in the U.S., the film has surpassed $100 million!

I remember the sighting with Paul Rudd. Speaking in Paul, he did a good job in How Do You Know.

Does anyone know the owner of the Gyllenhaalics blog? I think they have mixed up the SC dvd/blu ray release date with Duncan JOnes Moon bluray release date. According to the blog the dvd/blu ray release date for SC is in July. I don't believe that is correct but of course I could be wrong. SC is still in playing in the US although the theater count is lower but the tally is pretty good.

mary said...

stephanie has posted pictures of jake out hiking yesterday in runyon canyon with atticus

anon i think the dvd release date for SC is right its quite common now for dvds to be released 4 to 5 months now after opening date plus she got it from amazon

Monica said...

Anon, the release date is on: Amazon.Com

New photos: Hello Atticus

Anonymous said...

Funny, when I go to Amazon without your link Monica, it does not have a release date for Source Code.

mary said...

anon i just checked and amazon shows the release date

UltraViolet said...

We had links to a couple of articles about the DVD release. Not sure what's so hard to believe, anon.

Monica, forgot to say thanks for the link that showed the cover or poster. It was better than the original poster. I can't help but think the marketers dropped the ball on this one. Such a good movie with such good word of mouth. But a lot of people remark on how much better the movie was than they were expecting or than the trailer led them to believe.

But yay for passing $100 million worldwide.

Added one of the Atticus photos. Jake doesn't look too happy in most of the shots.

bobbyanna said...

I just realized, this month will be one year since PoP opened with so much fanfare!

Hard to believe Jake's had three movies out in that period of time. I think I'm spoiled from seeing so many fun interviews, and media events.Great news about SC, too!

Love Atticus! Maybe Jake's irritated about being spied on when he's just out walking with friends.

Anonymous said...

Jake isn't smiling which means he isn't smiling. Is he suppose to smile every second so people will think he's not irritated or mad or something.
If he is annoyed then if the people are close enough to say something (and that goes for any time he is having his picture taken) maybe they may say something that does bother him.
But not every picture of him when he's not smiling means he's upset.

Extra said...

Hi Atticus, it's so good to see you!

That is good news regarding SC, and yes Summit did drop the ball with marketing UV. It's such a good movie and the marketing was so lackluster. It came in at #12 this weekend.

Love the fan pics and the pics of Jake on tour with Mumford and sons, thanks so much for all the updates!

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the pic of Jake and Atticus. Jake can't be too happy to be running into the paps. He is certainly not going to smile for them. In videos of heard them say some nasty things to Jake while they were clicking away.

Congrats to Jake and Duncan, etc on the success of SC.

UltraViolet said...

Details on the SC DVD release. Looks like we'll get a Jake commentary track, which is great news.

bobbyanna said...

Saw this in Daily Variety and it made me smile to see Jake and EOW included as a marker of industry health for the success EOW had in Canne.

"A plethora of product, flash sales, bidding wars and muscular new markets in Russia and Latin America helped 2011's Cannes kick in to high gear from the get-go as the Croisette saw its strongest market in years.

"Early trading, at least on commercial titles, could be called spectacular.

Shopping two headline titles, Summit pretty well sold out Paul W.S. Anderson's "Pompeii," and Richard Kloos' "Tarzan 3D," both produced by Germany's Constantin.

Buyers flocked to Lionsgate's Meryl Streep starrer "Great Hope Springs," Sierra/Parker seller "Ender's Game" and "End of Watch," toplining Jake Gyllenhaal, sold by Exclusive Media. "

"It's probably one of the best Cannes I've ever known," said Ivan Boeing, at Brazil's Imagem.

"We're delighted at the volume and breadth of deals across multiple projects," concurred IM Global topper Stuart Ford."

Sag Actor said...

I cringe at the thought of Tarzan in 3-D but what great news regarding End od Watch!

Tweety said...

It's good to stop by here and see some really great pics of Jake, stayed away from twitter today, it's gone from funny to pathetic.

SC has done better than most people thought, those are fantastic numbers!

I'm so glad to hear that Jake will be doing commentary, thanks UV!

UltraViolet said...

It really is pathetic, tweety. So silly and so predictable.

Great news about EoW, bobbyanna. Love hearing that. Fingers crossed that the rest of the movie's evolution will be equally successful.

And LOL, Sag actor. Tarzan 3D is a very unappealing prospect.

Monica said...

Great news on the audio commentary. I love hearing the comments of Jake in Donnie Darko, Bubble Boy, Moonlight Mile.
BBM producers missed a great opportunity! The producers of Love and Other Drugs, too, would have been fun to hear Anne and Jake talking about that scenes!

Thanks for the news on End of Watch, Bobbyana. This is good news.

What are you talking about? That photo?

UltraViolet said...

Yes, I think that's what tweety meant, and it is what I meant. Can't wait for this inanity to pass.

I hope we get a Jake commentary for BBM one day. But they should have done it at the time, so we could have heard from Heath, too.

I'm surprised we didn't get one for PoP and L&OD. All missed opportunities.

Monica said...

All these news about Cannes remind me of Jake in Cannes. That was a great day. He was so happy to be there.
I miss seeing Jake in a great film festival.

Facts: Cannes said no to Brokeback Mountain.

UltraViolet said...

I don't think I knew that, Monica. I hope Jake makes a return trip to Cannes soon.

This is very sad news. Do you remember the little boy that Jake visited at Sloane Kettering in December? His mother writes a blog about him, RockStarRonan. The little boy died last week. It is a very sad, very inspiring story. Peace to Ronan and his family.

Lola said...

Oh my gosh! Thats so sad, he wasn't even four years old. My prayers are with Ronans family.

Some of Jake's fans are just plain weird photoshopping pics like that one. I'm so glad to hear that SC has done so well in theaters and that we will be getting a commentary for SC, I wish we would have got one for LAOD and POP. Also it would have been great to have one for BBM along with all those deleted scenes. I never heard of cannes saying no to BBM, why was that Monica?

Monica said...

This is a very sad news, UV.

I do not know why, but I remember that the film was rejected by the committee.

Chica said...

What sad news, my prayers go out to Ronan's parents.

Good news regarding Jake doing the commentary or SC!

I remember BBM not being shown at Cannes in '05, I thought it was because it wasn't submitted because it wasn't ready. I think the soundtrack wasn't added or something, but I may be remembering wrong.

bobbyanna said...

The news about little Ronan makes my heart ache. my thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.

Don't remember Cannes at all in
'05, just Venice, when BBM won the Golden Lion, and Ang had to leave Toronto FF to go back for the award presentation. : )

I'm really looking forward to the SC with commentary.

Chica said...

I have to make a correction to my BBM comments. It was screened at Cannes but the judges in the jury were "Underwhelmed" with the film and it never made it to competition.

Anonymous said...

I am very sorry to hear about Ronan, my prayers go out to his family.

Great news about EOW

And I can't wait to get SC in DVD.

As to those in Cannes on the jury watching BBM, were they watching the same movie? underwhelmed? Thank goodness Bafta and the Oscars took notice.

UltraViolet said...

The Ronan news was so sad. Reading all the entries on the blog was heart-breaking. I had checked there a few weeks back, and the news seemed grim. But my heart sank when I clicked on it last night.

Just devastating for everyone in that family, especially Ronan's mother.

This is a quick summary of the BBM/Cannes news. While I would love to have seen Jake and Heath in Cannes, I guess this would have taken the thunder out of Venice.

The last line of the story is funny, in retrospect. I had forgotten there were such high expectations for Elizabethtown.

UltraViolet said...

Forgot to post this last night, from infamous movie blogger Devin Faraci:

Took @scoleribros mom to dinner right off the plane from Ohio. Jake Gyllenhaal walked into the place. #doingLAright

Anonymous said...

why can't Jake ever walk into a place I'm eating at? :D

Office of Nancy Pelosi said...

My heart is breaking for Ronan's family, what a brave boy.

I remember when the judges at Cannes rejected BBM, things sure changed when it was screened at Venice.

I don't think that Dunst, Bloom and Crowe's careers have fully recovered from Elizabethtown!

UltraViolet said...

LOL, OONP. It will be interesting to see what Melancholia does for Kirsten Dunst. Some of the stills are just gorgeous, but it is a von Trier film, so who knows what it will be like.

I'd love to see Jake do a movie like that, though.

I just realized, this month will be one year since PoP opened with so much fanfare!

Hard to believe Jake's had three movies out in that period of time. I think I'm spoiled from seeing so many fun interviews, and media events.

PoP was a fun time, Bobbyanna. We were definitely spoiled in this year's time. It's going to be a bit of a drought, but with spontaneous adventures like the Railroad Revival Tour, I guess it won't be boring.

bobbyanna said...

Good times, UV!

Holy crap! "Oz the Great and Powerful," is going to be filmed in Michigan! James Franco, Rachel Weisz, Mila Kunis...and now Michelle Williams has been added to the cast!!! She play Glinda.

Paula said...

Pop was fun, I think that was my favorite Jake promo tour!

Atti is looking a bit rough here but it's good to see him out with Jake:)

Love the fan pics and the reminder of Jake's excellent adventure with M&S!!

I never understood Cannes rejecting BBM back then, boy were they wrong.

I can't wait until SC comes out with Jake's commentary, so many of his DVD's were lacking IMO.

Wow, what a fantastic cast and you are so lucky Bobbyanna, maybe you can manage to hang around where they are shooting if it isn't too far from wherte you live.

bobbyanna said...

Paula, I had Ryan Gosling and George Clooney filming at a church, less than 2 miles from my house a couple months ago...and I was clueless. I'll have to try to be more "alert" this time.

If our nasty new governor has his way, the cap he placed on incentives will discourage too many more large film projects from coming here, and it will mean loss of revenue and jobs.

But, hey. His new tax "reform " package raises taxes on pensions, and lowers taxes for corporations. Seriously.

UltraViolet said...

Jake has the worst PR/management/legal team on record. First they let this photo run unchecked for days and when they finally do something, it's heavy-handed and clumsy. It's like they can't deal with the inter webs, so they ignore it until they can't, then they make things worse.

I don't know if Jake is giving them bad guidance or vice versatile, but it's a shame.

bobbyanna said...

I saw, UV. I agree. It's sickening.

UltraViolet said...

Okay, "vice versatile" is a ridiculous autocorrect, lol!

And I had a feeling you'd agree, Bobbyanna.

Chica said...

Jakehas always had a shitty PR team , where were they on Sunday? Does he actually pay these people?

Chica said...

I alo should add that how do they know the names of all the blogs that posted them? They are just sending out the letters to the more popular sites. There is no source for the manip so to issue the letter is useless, it will be still floating around on the net.

bobbyanna said...

I guess they figured it was a problem when it hit E! news. Which it did. We could have told them there was a problem on twitter and FB long before that.

When I saw it repeat on twitter I started responding where I could, simply saying it was a fake, photoshopped, etc.

I think his management team sucks. Are they connected to CAA? Because I'm not impressed with CAA either.

FL said...

I have to believe that cease and desist letter was drafted by a law student intern at Jake's attorney's office because I cannot and will not believe for one second that a summa cum laude Harvard grad/Stanford law school grad, as Richard D. Thompson, Esq. is, would have drafted such an amateurish piece of drek.

It actually gave me pains in my stomach when I read that letter earlier today.

bobbyanna said...

Not to spam, but what really pisses me off is that other actors get photoshopped, but it seems like Jake's nonsense gets highlighted...in the absence of a
comprehensive PR strategy that would foreclose interest in such crap.

OT: My daughter Lisa just e-mailed me that she was at the Colbert Report tonight. So please watch. Altho I don't think he ever shows his audience.

Lola said...

Is the stuff with the photo that bad that Jake's management had to send out a cease and desist letter? I don't really look around the web anymore when it comes to Jake because some peoples negativity about him was rubbing off on me, so i have no idea what is going on. And i probably don't want to. Jake seriously needs to get some new managment/PR people.

Oh, and thanks for the BBM cannes info, underwhelmed how ridiculous, but it did give us a great venice moment.

UltraViolet said...

Chica, even worse, it was Saturday that it first really spread, maybe even Friday. I can't remember at this point. I realize it's the weekend, but, you know, that's why they pay you the big bucks.

And Bobbyanna, E! is the one place still running the photo. So bigtime fail there, attorneys! Oh, and queerty, which is refusing to take it down. Dlisted, Best Week and a few other sites have removed it.

FL, it's astonishingly bad. Every time I think Jake's people can't get any worse, they unhappily surprise me.

Lola, the stuff wasn't really that bad, that's why the letter is, IMO, over the top. It's too much of a sledgehammer for a frivolous issue. But the photo was spreading like wildfire, with the usual type of comments, ranging from amusing to annoying to assholish. Any good PR team/lawyer would have stepped in well before that idiot Ted C made his move, which he did when he realized hoe many hits he'd get.

As it is now, Jake looks like the asshole without a sense of humor. Or a competent lawyer.

UltraViolet said...

Oh, and bobbyanna, how fun for Lisa! I don't think he does show his audience, unfortunately.

It will be fun to have Oz come to your town :)

UV, I remember that everyone hoped that Elizabeth Town would be a great movie.

Lars Von Trier is not much beloved by critics. I know many people who consider him a charlatan.
Dogville is my favorite film of him. Nicole Kidman is amazing in this movie.

Yes, it would be interesting to see Jake in this kind of movie.

I guess I never said here that POP is in the top 20 highest-grossing films of last year in Brazil. I think the movie came in 15th. And beat Inception!

I am upset to see that Pirates will be in 3D and IMAX. JB should have filmed POP in 3D.
Not to mention the premieres at Cannes and other countries.

Oh, Bobbyana, Michelle will be near you! Hope you have a chance to meet her.

Monica said...

UV, I saw this picture on Sunday when it was posted here. And in my forum, where I asked to remove the image.

Yes, I know some people are turning against Jake saying he has no sense of humor... bullshit. Will always have a jerk that will talk this kind of thing.
It's always fun when it happens with others.
Jake is right.

UltraViolet said...

I agree in principle, Monica. I'm sure Jake is tired of having a sense of humor about this sort of thing, which has been aimed at him for years and years now. But his lawyer and publicist should have used a much defter hand.

I'm hoping against hope that this dies a relatively quick death. The defamation letter hasn't exploded on twitter; maybe it won't. But Jake and his fans don't ever seem to luck out in this sort of thing.

Bobbyanna, Colbert did The Word, my favorite segment of his!

Oh, and nice news about PoP, Monica. It was also in the Top 20 for movies in Europe last year; #16, I think.

They definitely should have done the fake 3D; it would have pushed the movie over $100 million because people were just stupid about 3D last year.

bobbyanna said...

"Enhance re justification." LOL!!
He is brilliant.

UltraViolet said...

Hee.

Tweet from today, in LA:

Anonymous said...

I saw the photo in question (it's me anon who asked which photo) There was another photoshopped photo of JAke, in bed taking his briefs off. I guess that one didn't make the rounds and this one did.

He definitely needs a better PR people.

Jake's PR team is a joke but we already knew that, sigh.

Twitter has been depressing this week. First all of that photo nonsense. And today, it's all news about Maggie. I keep getting excited when I read this headline: Gyllenhaal to Star in Supernatural Thriller.

Oh well. The movie itself doesn't actually sound great. But it's great for Maggie fans to see new projects - two films and a play reading.

All that and the photos of Kirsten Dunst looking fab in Cannes leave me wanting more of that for Jake.

We did get a twitter sighting:
