I love this post!

Loved going down memory lane with Holden, Jack, Dastan, etc.

Happy Valentines day!

Slow is definitely the word, Mary. Hope we here something fun soon.

Glad folks enjoyed the post. It was hard to find videos of just the kisses from Jake's movies. I remember seeing a video that compiled all of them, but it was a while ago. No longer on yt, apparently. I wonder if I have it saved somewhere...

What a wonderful Valentine's Day gift for Jake fans UV, you did a really good job off finding and and posting all of Jake's on screen kisses!

It is quiet on the Gyllenhaal front, thast should change soon once SC promotion starts up.

Happy valentines day!

I love the post, the other one was getting sort of long. I've never seen the first video, how cute. Yes, very slow in Jake news. I wonder if Jake will ever move to brooklyn, he spends so much of his time there and most of his family is there.

((((Tommy)))!! That's one of my favorite Jake on screen kisses, so sweet and sexy!

Happy Valentine's day!

Nice to be reminded of all of Jake's roles. And what a good kisser he is. :)

UltraViolet said...

I didn't get them all, OONP, but I tried :)

Lola, the last post did go on. I'll try to remember these dog days fondly once SC promotion starts up.

Extra, I love the Tommy kiss, too. Too bad there wasn't more shown.

LG, it's important to remember these things :)

SXSW has an iPhone app, and there is a story on SC. No new pics or much of anything new, really. Duncan Jones has some nice words for Jake. The writer says Jones is working with another dynamic actor. And Jones says that like Sam Rockwell, Jake is smart and very funny. He says that this is Jake's best role yet (allowing that it
Is a typical director thing to say). And that the role puts Jake in the mold of a Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones type.

Happy belated Valentine's Day everyone, I didn't get a chance to post yesterday!

What strikes me with this montage of Jake's onscreen kisses is that the movies for the most part are so heartbreaking from BBM to the GG and MM.

I think LAOD is my new fav, love the chemistry between Jake and Anne.

I forgot that SC will be premiering at SXSW UV, I think he is laying low until then.

Thanks for posting the SC release date list Monica!

UltraViolet said...

Man, the SXSW site lists SC as only 87 minutes. I thought 93 was way too short. But not even an hour and a half?

Jake had better not be offscreen for more than 5 of those minutes.

UltraViolet said...

Missed your post, Tweety. Jake has starred in a great number of heart-breaking movies. I'd say it's time for something easy and breezy. But I think I prefer the angst. L&OD has a good balance.

Thanks for the dates for SC, Monica. Looks like Germany has to wait a long time again. Carla, if she's out there and still a Jake fan, must be annoyed!

UltraViolet said...

Triple-posting. Jake will be on a panel at SXSW:

Join visionary director Duncan Jones and the cast of the SXSW opening night film as they navigate parallel universes, alternate realities and mind-bending explosions. Jones will be joined by cast members Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan as they answer all of your questions about the making of Source Code, his highly anticipated follow up to Moon.

Also, I think there was a press screening of SC in NY yesterday. Jeffrey Lyons tweeted that Ben saw SC. Haven't seen any reaction from him or anyone else.

Okay, I don't think I've ever posted four times in a row, but you're all awfully quiet out there today. And this is fun news. From what seems to be a Hollywood insider twitter/board. Just the headline, because you have to be a member:

Gwyneth Paltrow, Jake Gyllenhaal and Mila Kunis in talks for HAPPYTIME MURDERS

Here's a description:

‘Happytime takes place in a world where humans and puppets co-exist, with the puppets viewed as second-class citizens. When the puppet cast of an ’80s children’s TV show called ‘The Happytime Gang’ begins to get murdered one by one, a disgraced LAPD detective-turned-private eye puppet — with a drinking problem, no less — takes on the case with his former human partner. Think ‘Avenue Q’ meets ‘L.A. Confidential.’

Intriguing. Could be fun. And I'm happy to see Jake's name associated with a potential new project.

"I'm happy to see Jake's name associated with a potential new project."

Me too.:)

Ahhh, so Gwyneth's Grammy performance with the Muppets makes more sense, now.

I've seen the calendars, and PoP Valentines Day cards, but I just now discovered someone's selling Maternity t-shirts...with "Mrs. Jake Gyllenhaal" written on the front.:)

Monica said...

Thanks, UV. Ben Lyons? He is still a film critic?

Jake could be the villain of this movie ...

UltraViolet said...

Hey, Monica. I'm not sure if Ben Lyons still does reviews in any great capacity. He used to do mini reviews on E! News. Like one-liners, basically.

Also not sure if Jake would be a villain or a good guy. Hopefully some shades of gray!

UltraViolet said...

I saw that tweet, too, Bobbyanna. Hee. People do have fun with Jake on twitter. Someone this morning tweeted that in reality, she was stuck in traffic but in her head, she was in Jake Gyllenhaal's bed :)

bobbyanna said...

I'm wondering if maybe Jake is traveling. Last I read about him was Sunday evening when he was at Franny's in BK with Maggie & Ramona.

Monica said...

Definitely not like Ben Lyons.

Good to know that they are exhibiting Source Code for the critics, unlike what happened to laod.

Villains are more interesting. It's one of my biggest dreams to see Jake playing a villain in a movie.

Bob, remember reading a sighting on Monday in Park Slope.

bobbyanna said...

I agree, monica, I'd love to see Jake play a villain.

I saw the Gyllenhaal maternity tweet too! This is such a sweet and sexy post, perfect for Valentine's day or any day:)

That project with Paltrow and Kunis sounds interesting and fun, I hope it's more than just talk.

SC sounds like it too short:(

mary said...

hope the movie role happens sounds interesting when they say in talks usually means close to signing at least i hope that what it means

Chica said...

I hope so too Mary! It's definately sounds original.

Lola said...

Hmmm, the new movie role sounds interesting, but a little out there. I'm just happy there's a rumor about a possible new role.

Shondra said...

Is that a Dastan Valentine days card? If I knew that they were being sold i would have bought one! Late to the Valentines day wishes, I hope everyone had a nice and romantic day!

What a a great compilation of Jake's kisses on the big screen.

Ben Lyons saw SC? I'm actually not looking forward to hearing his "review".

The new rumored role sounds intriguing, sort of like Who Framed Roger Rabbit with puppets!

Just found this review of Source Code, it's in german and I am not sure about the translation but they seem to like it and gives it a 9.

It does so often enough that directors celebrate the surprising success of her debut, then followed with the second Film to fail magnificently. I am very happy that Duncan Jones falls into this category of filmmakers. Apparently he has written on the flag to tell original stories with a special twist, which he managed with source code and again. And although the above mentioned comparisons (Marmot, Déjà Vu) are not entirely wrong: he reminds me most of Inception. He has, of course, neither the strength nor the visual giant production budget. But as he builds piece by piece on a fantastic story that encourages after the movie to think about. Only the end I was not optimal - if he had been only 5 minutes shorter, if he were now at the top right of my favorite movies.

UltraViolet said...

Ooh, good find, anon. Thanks. Seems like she loved the film except for the very end. I'll try to look around for some more reviews. She seemed to indicate that SC is/was playing at the Berlinale. But that seems unlikely.

About the potential new film or any possible film, I'd love to see Jake play a real villain. I'm just not sure I want it to be in a muppet movie!

Shondra, that is, indeed, a Dastan valentine. There were a few tweets from mothers happy to do their kids' cards because they got to look at Jake. The blogger who posted that card was quite a bit less enthralled by the idea. But I was happy she posted it.

From Twitter:
" Oh wow. I am an idiot. I just walked a half mile with Jake Gyllenhall and didn't realize it was him until we got to the theater"

When I first saw this, I assumed NYC. But the guy's based in L.A. and I think he's tweeting from L.A.
Haven't seen anything else.

The script for Happy Time Murders has been floating arounf do a few years, I think Cameron Diaz was attached to it at one point.

It sounds like a fun and interesting project for Jake, it may be just a rumor but I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Looks like Jake is back in L.A.:

UltraViolet said...

Oh, you guys were on it! Thanks for the advance info. I guess the paparazzi caught him at some point.

I'll try to get the new pics up in a post. I love the V-Day clips but I know it's slow to load.

bobbyanna said...

UV, the LAOD is addictive! I'm embarrassed (alomost)at how many times I've watched it. Cannot wait for the DVD! I like the "Brothers" kiss too.;)

LOL! I thought the Silver Lake Studio was a production type facility, but it's a salon/spa type place!

OT rant: Are Leo, Matt Damon, Johnny Depp and...James Franco the only guys making any movies? The announcements just keep rolling out.:(

(*waves* to tweety!)

thanks for the twitter updates guys wondering where jake was if he was still in nyc glad to see him back in la for awhile also glad to see he is still clean shaven

Hi Mary! New post.
