Look - no hats!

Jake Gyllenhaal was a presenter at the 66th annual Golden Globes. And though he didn't do the red carpet or sit and drink at a table with Maggie and Robert Downey Jr. and he didn't bring Reese, he did look great on stage.

Click the last one for really big Jake.

And thanks to Stephanie, Jake in motion:

Some pictures of Jake and Reese from the Friday night pre-GG party:

Surprise!

Stephanie also posted the video of Heath's win. You can see it here.

He looks GOOD, thanks UV and of Steph of course, she has posted some pics of Jake out for coffee yesterday.

I am not sure where Jake sat but I did see him on the floor during the show when they went to break talking to David Fincher. So I think he was sitting and on the floor somewhere. I guess Reese wasn't there?

I did not see Maggie's table either.

Jake did look really great imo.

Very glad Heath won, wish he was there for it.

Adore Kate Winslet and was so glad for her wins, glad Mickey Rouke won and Slumdog Millionare.

He did look great last night, and so did Maggie. Nice to see him out and all dressed up, it's been a while.

Thanks, UV.

He looked absolutely gorgeous, Thanks UV.

Thanks UV and of course IHJ for the updates, recaps and video. I was in and out last night and missed some of the show. Did catch Jake of course, he looked great and no beanie!!!

I knew Heath was a lock to win but it was still bittersweet, loved Nolans speech. There were some surprises like the win for Colin for In Burges but he deserved to win, I really loved that movie and him in it.

Kate's double win was a surprise as well, I thought she would get it for the Reader but not for R. Road, I guess they wanted to make up for all of her previous losses!

Seriously though she deserved both wins, I saw both movies and she was amazing in both.

Rourke wasn't really a surprise but i thought they may award it to Penn, glad Mickey won though, what a comeback story!

Not suprised Slumdog won over TCCOBB, I thought the latter was just OK but i loved Slumdog, what a great little movie.

Get real, I don't think Jake had a table, it looked like he just went into the audience to talk to Fincher. Presenters don't have tables unless they are nominated or has a film that was nominated. TDK had only the Heath nomination so Maggie didn't have a table either. Unless pics pop up of Jake, Maggie, Reese or Peter at a party, I assume they just headed home.

PS: I checked out the pics on IHJ of Jake aka Clyde Barrow and it looks like he returned to the scene of the crime from last week, Peet's cafe!

It was so good to see Jake in his tux and w/o that beanie!!! He looked good. Loved Nolan's acceptance speech for Heath.

I hope Jake chatting with Fincher means that Torso is a possibility??

Yeah, it looks like Jake has returned to the scene of the cime in those picson IHJ!!!

Presenters do have seats at tables, depending on whether they are there with a nominated film, promoting an upcoming film, or if they are just there presenting.

Studios and publicists/agents are really responsible for how an actor gets to the Globes and how they are handled. It's more open then the Oscars.

Example, Cameron Diaz had no role other then to present, but she was seated. Jake could have been assigned to a random table way in back.

Anonymous said...

Thanks gofer!! It's possible Jake had a seat somewhere in the back and he just went to Fincher's table to talk.

I just assumed he didn't have a table because he didn't in '07, not sure about '05.

Anonymous said...

Cameron was Drew's +1

Anonymous said...

I love the GG because they are such a party! No telling what was going on with all the table hopping! Seems like people love to visit.

I was very moved by Christopher Nolan's acceptance speech on Heath's behalf. I also liked what Maggie said when she said it took a really big performance to have such an impact because Batman was such a really big movie. Or something to that effect. She said Heath elevated it.

I still have a question about Demi Moore's presentation. I thought the way it worked there was a best supporting in Drama and a best supporting in Comedy/Musical. But when she read them, she read them all as one category. Robert Downey, and Tom Cruise were in a comedy, they weren't competing against Heath. At least that's what I thought originally.

Maggie was radiant! She looked taller then usual, too.

I wonder if the haircut signals the end of PoP re-shoots?

The Golden Globes nominates the lead actor and actress in both the dramatic and musical/comedy categories. However, the best supporting actor/actress covers both genres.

See the breakdown on the Golden Globes website .

Also, may I just take a moment to guffaw over the Ryan Seacrest BURN when trying to interview Brad and Angie on the red carpet? Brilliant!

Anonymous said...

LOL!! I saw that FL, good for Brad and Angie, Seacrest is a friggin tool.

Lookslike Jake was running late yesterday:

"Then unexpectedly, yet another brush with fame. Suddenly the limo carrying the very-late Jake Gyllenhaal drove past, and proved you don't need to be in the special VIP seats to spot a celeb in Beverly Hills."

http://www.nbclosangeles.com/around_town/the_scene/Goin-to-the-Globes.html

Maggie was in town for the awards and maybe still is. I can imagine there was a lot of catching up to do.

Jake really filled out that tux last night,he looked great and yay for he Slumdog win!!!

Anonymous said...

I was wondering about the haircut too bobbyanna, maybe the Pop re-shoots are done? He looked great last night, loved him in a tuxand w/o that wool beanie! Not suprised that Slumdog won, I think it will win on AA night too.

I have a feeling Maggie is on her way home, I didn't see Peter so I bet he stayed in NY, she looked fab last night.

I was moved by Nolan's spech as well, it's going to be hard watching these awards this year.

Ha, ha!! I think Brad and Angie snubbed that jerk Ryan last year too.

Anonymous said...

maggie went back to ny after the show there pictures of her at lax

Anonymous said...

So my senses were right I had a feeling it would be a quick trip. Between doing re-shoots, getting ready for the GG's and having your sis in town for a brief moment to catch up, he must be exhausted!

UltraViolet said...

Hi Paula, are you feeling better?

The Ryan Seacrest snub was the highlight of the pre-show. Even though I felt a teeny bit bad for him.

I'm in the minority, I guess, on Kate Winslet. I don't mind her winning, but I thought her speeches were horrible. We get it - you've been nominated a lot and never won. Get it together and just talk. And if you can't, then leave.

The whole "I've never won anything" gambit also bugs, since, you know. she has pretty much won the career lottery. Not saying she hasn't worked hard, but she's been very lucky in her work life.

I did love Colin Farrell's acceptance speech, despite having hated that movie. There's a clip of him in the press room afterwards, and he's charming there, as well.

UltraViolet said...

More video of Jake and Reese leaving the pre-GG party. Watch out, guys, Jake has shown he knows how to make a quick escape. Just ask the folks at Peet's!

I forgot to comment on those pics. How brazen of Jake to return to the scene of the crime.

Let's start over. :)

I hated In Bruges too. I felt like I got suckered into a movie that was billed as a comedy but was horrifically violent.I was not happy!

Thanks for the video link.:)

UltraViolet said...

I didn't mean to upset/fluster you, LGB ;)

I felt exactly the same way about In Bruges. For some reason, I had to stop watching it about 3/4 of the way through, and I've never even bothered to see the end.

FL said...

I once started to watch In Bruges, fell asleep and never went back to it.

But I will say this, clean and sober Colin Farrell is very very attractive.

Not on the Kate Winslet train either. I find her incredibly full of herself. [small voice] same with Anne Hathaway [/small voice]

Here's a great video of The Diss that with diagrams and everything!

Anonymous said...

I saw the Diss as it happened!!! I didn't feel sorry for Ryan Seacrest, bcz I thought he should have stayed put, instead of running down there chasing. OTOH, I switched to NBC's red carpet during commercials and E! was far superior to NBC. NBC was just awful.

Thanks for the link to Colin's press availability. I love him. I even loved him back when he was having troubles. He has a way about him. I actually liked In Bruges. In a perverse way. And I really like Brendan Gleeson and Colin together. Talk about disappearing acts: Was that really Johnny Depp or a hologram??:):)

Good night, babblers!

Jake is so sexy and elegant.
One of the best presenters of the night.
I did not see the moment when he was talking to David Fincher!

The best moment was the award to Heath. It was a prize for a brilliant performance! Perhaps the best of the year!

Thanks for all links and information!

Anonymous said...

Hi UV! I'm feeling a lot better, thanks. I run hot and cold regarding Winslet, loved her in Eternal Sunshine, thought she should have won for that, but didn't like her at all in Little Children and couldn't figure out why she was nominated. And yes her speech was horrible.

Thanks for the link to the diss FL!!!

Anonymous said...

Let's hope we have seen the last of Jake's collection of beanies! He looked great last night and was happy to see him chatting with Fincher! Loved the Seacrest snub, Seacrest is an annoying gnat and I think Brad and Angie has done that before with him, thanks for the video link.

I like Kate but even I disliked her speech, I hope she has something more prepared if she is nominated, which will be and win the AA.

Love Colin, thanks for the clip!!

That is Peet's in those pics, wheres Bonnie? Waiting in the getaway car, LOL!!

It was great to see Jake at an event and he sure knows how to rock a tux! His hair looked fine.

I guess neither he nor Maggie or Reese did any after parties, Maggie went home right after, no surprise since it looked like Peter stayed in NY. Thanks for the link to the video of J&R at the pre-GG party, they looked surprised when they left, it looked like security was lax.

Nolan's acceptance speech on behalf of Heath was heartfelt and moving, i was surprised at the double for Kate.

My evening had sucked pretty much and i was wallowing in self pitty then "Borat" came on and he cracked me up.
Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan were funny too and as much i got a little tired of Kate Winslet it was funny that she forgot (or pretended to) Angelina Jolie LOL

Jake looked good in his Tux and I liked his hair. But I missed his glowing smile. And I was little bit diappointed because I had hoped getting some pictures with him and Maggie together.

But good to see some "official" pictures again. Hopefully not to far in the future he will be one of the nominees instead of presenter.:-))

Again running pictures - I am starting to believe that perhaps he will be starting to work on the Namath project soon. If they concentrate on Namath youth and carreer he will have to show a perfect body. Although I hope they will also show some of Joes "controversial" moments. Just a bit speculation from me. On IMDBpro the project is listed for 2010 filming should be starting this year.

Anonymous said...

The funny thing is that way before the Jake and Reese caper last week, i was thinking about remakes and thought that Jake and Reese could do Bonnie and Clyde!! I think had something to do with Jeff Wells from Hollywoodelsewhere.com suggesting them for the remake of Days of Heaven.

Nervy of him to return to the scene of the crime and more jogging pics! Maybe the Namath proj. is up next.

Loved seeing him up on stage at the GG's and to see that beautiful head of hair!

and more jogging pics! Maybe the Namath proj. is up next.

You know you might be right about that, extra.

Anonymous said...

Good morning!!

Well, Jake's running regularly, and with a trainer, so there must be a point to it, but they didn't even have a script for Joe Namath. Last we heard. Two physically demanding roles in a row! Guess it would be better that way, tho. Wouldn't have to get in shape twice.

I love to think of remakes, too, but Bonnie & Clyde? That's one of my all time favorite, classic, iconic masterpieces! I don't think anyone should remake it. Ever.

It would be like trying to remake Cool Hand Luke. Why bother ? Like touching up Da Vinci's Last Supper, or "fixing" Mona Lisa, or...never mind. I would love to see them work together! How about To Catch A Thief??? :)

p.s.

Last word on GG: Didn't you just love Tina Fey dissing the internet "fans?" I LOL. :)

agent_krycek said...

Although, thinking about it, it might not point to Nameth. He did bulk up a lot for PoP and perhaps he wants to loose some of that bulk in a controlled manner, hence the trainer (can you tell I'm distinctly underwealmed by the Nameth project - never heard of the man and don't like American Football - sorry)

Anonymous said...

Agent k, you might be right! (I'm not jumping for joy about the Namath biopic either. I hate football, but I always liked Joe Namath.) I'd love to see a smart, fun caper film...like Oceans' 11.
Or a RomCom like The Philadelphia Story.

Off to shovel...again.

FL said...

How about To Catch A Thief??? :)

Sacrilegious!! Nobody should ever remake a Cary Grant/Grace Kelly vehicle. Not even Jake and Reese.

Sorry to hear about your shoveling woes, bobbyanna. But what you have today means we'll have in a day or so. Lucky us!

Anonymous said...

I like football, but I'm not too thrilled with the Namath project for some reason. What ever happened to the Untitled Moon Project? I thought that was the next movie.

Bobbyanna, I am familiar with that site Tina Fey was talking about, it's the goldderby.com forum. I registered there a few years ago but I forgot my password. I still lurk and read the posts and they really dissed poor Tina, LOL!!

agent_krycek said...

I like and watch most sports, but American Football leaves me completely cold, got dragged to a couple of matches by an ex once, ended up reading a book during them - that large American chap, the Fridge, washing machine or something was playing

Still pining my hopes on some clever scriptwriter coming up with a comedy caper film for Jake and RDJ

Anonymous said...

I've changed my mind, FL...it's going to snow again tomorrow, so why bother! We're due another four inches.

I'd like to imagine they all brainstorm and pitch ideas to one another so they can work together,
Reese & Robert, Jake's friends from SNL, etc.

I enjoy basketball and soccer the most, Agent K.

October Sky was on last night. Jake has such a sweet face. Anyone can see how amazing he is, just watching those scenes with Chris Cooper and Laura Dern.

Anonymous said...

"I like football, but I'm not too thrilled with the Namath project for some reason. What ever happened to the Untitled Moon Project? I thought that was the next movie"

I had never heard of Namath before this project was mentioned. But IMO - if done right and focus not only on his football career, this could be an excellent take on Namath and the way of life or the awareness of life during the sixties/seventies. He was the first sports "Pop Star", a womanizer and eccentric person.

The Moon Project has already the THIRD script writer:
Moon Project

And Doug Limans directing work does not convince me - especially if you compare him with the excellent directors like Lee, Fincher or Mendes with whom Jake has worked so far. I would really like to know why Jake has signed on this film......

A year ago (could be a bit longer, not sure) I have read that Jake was offered a role in Jack Kerouacs "On the road" directed by Walter Salles.

Ok I found it - an interview with Jamie Bell, who was also interested in this film:
Jamie Bell interview

"I don't go up for a huge amount of stuff because most of it is bad. But Walter Salles is making a movie of Jack Kerouac's On the Road and I went to meet him and do a reading. And straight away the part was offered to Jake Gyllenhaal. He's a great actor, older, more experienced but I was bummed. It would've been amazing to work with Salles."

I have never heard/read anything further about this project, but I remember that I was excited when I read it.....

JoeAnn said...

I'll second the love for October Sky, bobbyanna. I caught some of it last night, too. He was such a natural in that film. You never catch him acting.

I've been wondering what all the diligent exercise is about too. Mind you, it makes for lots and lots of pics of sweaty, muscley Jake--sweet relief from the drought we suffered through last fall.

Monica said...

Good night, babblers!

Gabbana, I read an interview with Walter Salles about the film On The Road. He's still working on the project produced by Francis Ford Coppola.
In the interview, he said he did not want to work with famous actors.

Interesting news, anon. More info and a source would be welcome.

From the sublime to the Star - I keep forgetting to post these tidbits from this week's edition of the tabloid. There's a picture of Jake and Reese at the Lakers game, of course. Then a story about how Jake was mistaken for a homeless person on one of his coffee runs. Apparently Jake found it amusing.

Finally, Jake and Reese were the subject of one of those "Who wore it better" features, with a side by side comparison of them in the puffy jackets they wore in the Ojai pictures.

Jake won :)

J&R engaged???

http://www.nikkibgoss.com/2009/01/reese-jake-engaged.html

UltraViolet said...

Well, I did notice that she had a ring on the index finger of her right hand and then she didn't have it later on. But it doesn't look like an engagement ring or the turned-around band of a hidden diamond.

Of course, she could have had yet another ring she was hiding. But it seems odd that she'd be showing off her ring to Jeffrey Katzenberg.

The index ring

Also, is Jake going to be jogging in a sweatshirt next. He's going in the wrong direction coverage-wise.

UltraViolet said...

Also, has Janet Charlton ever had a legitimate gossip scoop? Or at least in the last decade?

Sometimes one has to pick and choose what tidbits from the tabs to believe...... I like this one!

Hee, suvee. I agree. I also like the "Who wore it better?" contest. That cracked me up.

Also, this is responding to old comments, but I forgot to chime in on October Sky. I adore that movie, and Jake's performance in it. I love the scene towards the end, when Homer brings the medal to Miss Riley in the hospital. The way he gazes at her just makes me melt.

FL said...

Interesting. There's another shot of that ring somewhere from that night where it looked like there was a flat stone across the top, sort of in line with the look of an antique diamond ring.

I'll have to go on a search now.

Janet Charlton didn't say diamond solitaire, just antique diamond ring.

FL said...

Yeah, it's probably glare from the lights.

UltraViolet said...

I know JC didn't say solitaire, but that ring doesn't look at all like an engagement ring, antique or modern. So if that were the ring, a turned-around solitaire might explain it. But it really doesn't seem to fit the bill. And she isn't hiding it.

Anonymous said...

If they are engaged it wouldn't surprise me. I think it's inevitable. My thoughts wander to Spring down on the farm...isn't that mating season?:)

I'm going to try on my hats.

Anonymous said...

I noticed the two rings when the pics first came out, but i thought that it was just the signet ring w/o taking a good look at it.

She isn't hiding it in the pics.

agent_krycek said...

She's defiantely wearing two rings, one is noticably thinner then the other, it's very clear in the clapping photograph. She's constantly had one or two rings on that finger since mid September, whatever the outfit, pretty much whatever she's doing or whatever the other jewellrey is like, the ring/s are constant. Obviously I'm saying nothing ;-)

Anonymous said...

Has she always worn 2 rings on her left hand like that? I'm asking because i have seen the gold band on her middle finger since September as you have pointed out AK, but the second ring, no. In the past she has worn various rings on both hands, but the gold band is a constant, almost like a place holder. The smaller second band is not the signet ring.

I believe Janet as much as I believe the rest of the gossip assholes so I doubt that Reese was wearing a third ring and she took it off, but IMO something has changed with them since the holidays, hmmmm. One of my local radio station mentioned this as well.

PS: I didn't mention or post the annual is she preggers stuff (the visit to the doctor's on Monday).

Anonymous said...

I'd be very surprised if Reese ever got pregnant under her current circumstances. I would think she is very conscious of what kind of message that might send to her daughter.

I think they will marry first, before they decide to have children. I believe the ring Reese has been wearing constantly since the fall, is a "promise ring," indicating a commitment. Something pre-engagement. I will remain vigilant. Her birthday comes in March.

Anonymous said...

sally!!! Long time no see!! Glad you popped in and I agree plus she has a filmed lined up. The ring has to be some kind of promise ring IMO, I don't by that blurb from J. Charlton. I think she may have been fiddling with the ring during the gamr that's all.

Anonymous said...

One big awards show down and two big ones to come: The Sags and of course the AA's.

The only real surpise that night was Winslet winning for BA and BSA. There was chatter that Penn boycotted the GG's because of Milk's snub, it will be interesting to see if it will get best pic nod when they announce the AA's. Slumdog is sweeping everything!

All I have to add to the speculation is that if Reese has a film lined up for the spring, i doubt that she is pregnant. Now the ring is a different story, I think it's some kind of promise ring too, waiting for the official ring, they sure do look really happy in the Laker pics and the pics I saw of them after she won the PC awards.

Anonymous said...

I guess I vote for "promise ring" too. I was thinking. Often, people think it's the lady who is reluctant, but maybe they both have reasons for taking their time about marrriage. For one thing, I wouldn't be surprised if Jake wants to really earn some money before he settles down. That might be part of the incentive to do big movies, like PoP. That and the fact he likes to watch big movies.:)

(I was going to wait for the four inches of snow in my driveway to melt. Perhaps not. They are saying our temperature has gone up to 10 degrees! From 0. Brilliant sunny day, too...Day After Tomorrow was on last night...I just couldn't...Watched American Psycho...Reese was carrying around a pet pig in that movie!!!!!)

Anonymous said...

One more thing. sag actor, I don't know if it's true about Sean Penn boycotting, but I thought Christopher Nolan showed a lot of class coming there to accept for Heath on The Dark Knight.

Aaron and Maggie were both there as presenters, and as fellow cast members, they could have, but even tho that was TDK's only nomination, the director came. Class.

agent_krycek said...

I'm still not sure what the ring is, I know what I like to think it is, but I'm certain it's very significant to them.

Re the baby thoughts, I'd have said definately not, if only for the fact I can't see Reese being out in public swigging on a pint of lager if there was an iminent announcement.

With all the depressing stories in the news, what happened in NY yesterday was truly a miracle.

They are calling it the miracle on the Hudson and it was. What an incredible story, the pilot is truly a hero.

It was amazing that everyone walked away from that crash - and the pilot, what a hero!

I stopped listening to flight attendants go thru the safety procedures long ago! I think from now on, maybe I'll listen! The pilot was absolutely heroic. I was impressed with the way the ferry boats surrounded the plane almost immediately, tossing out life vests and bringing passengers to safety.
I can't even imagine what it must have been like to be in the plane, and watching it fill with water.
Miracle is a good word for it!

OONP, I'm SO excited about Tuesday!!! Some family and friends will be there, but when I suggested it to my daughters, they said "That's why we have television!" Sentiments echoed by Whoopie Goldberg, on TV the other night!!!:)

I went to one Inauguration and it was a mess. 1993. It's cold, it's crowded, and you can't get into restaurants or bars, or do any sight-seeing. On CNN, someone duggested people bring their own toilet paper! So yes, staying home and going to an event a few miles away is definitely preferable. Thanks for linking.

I have never been to an Inaguration but I have heard similar stories to yours so yesyour daughters are right, that's what TV is for!!

I think C-Span will have the best coverage.

Hope everyone is keeping warm that lives in the east from this cold snap,it's 7 degees here in NY!

Very nervy of Bonnie and Clyde to return to the scene of the crime!

Believe it or not, MSNBC has really great pre-Inauguration coverage!

It looks like Jake ditched his PT yesterday, both he and Reese have there jogging gear on. He has the beanie and a hoodie, I guess he has the extensions back on, I wonder how long the re-shoots are going to last?

More excellent coverage:

With the exception of Pat Buchanan, I usually prefer MSNBC to CNN. (I'm a little addicted to Rachel Maddow's show.)

I'm really excited about watching the inauguration coverage. My company is going to show the ceremony on all the common area tv's scattered throughout our headquarters. Pretty cool, IMO.

J & R must stop off for their caffeine fix after they drop one (or both) of the kids off at school.

Unfortunately I'll be at work during the inauguration, it's 4pm - 6pm over here, but hopefully I'll be able to see some online coverage

And Bonnie and Clyde, utterly brazen returning to the scene of their crime

Hey Agent K, was that just wishful thinking when you said above that you may get Jake for the BAFTAs or did you hear something?

Hello, everyone. Meant to get those pictures from yesterday up in a new post, but the day got away from me.

We'll see if I can get my act together today or if Jake makes it easy on us by jogging or strolling. Preferably shirtless.

agent_krycek said...

Whistful thinking I'm afraid, we did get him last year presenting and Award, so I live in hope

I figured as much, AK, but hope springs eternal. See my comment re: new pictures :)

Good night, babblers!

Thanks babblers, for all the information and links!

What is re-shoots? I think it is something linked to the special effects, but I need a clearer explanation!

Yesterday saw Benjamin Button and consider one of the best of the year. The film is beautiful reflection about life. Everything works: photography, editing, soundtrack, direction ... all excellent. The cast is great: Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett and Taraji Henson deserve all the praise and prizes / indications received so far.
A great work of David Fincher.

I'm an MSNBC girl with C-Span thrown in for good measure! Caught some of the whistle-stop journey, and it was very exciting. Part of me really wishes I could be there and the other part of me looks outside at the fifth inch of snow falling and the 12 degree temps and gets another cup of tea!

I guess HBO will air the concert on the Mall tomorrow.

I'm surprised poor Jake still has reshoots. That has to be frustrating. But at least he can do them in L.A.

Anonymous said...

I'm surprised at the MSNBC coverage too, I'm even enjoying Chris Matthews, LOL!!

It does seem like Jake is still doing reshoots with his running with his PT, and his continued use of the beanie.

Love the sly smiles o J&R's faces in the recent pics!!

They read this one notifies in Jake's web?

They name it ultimately.

It looks like that woman leased her home out for Zodiac I assume since Jake and RDJ names are mentioned.

It's a smart idea with this economy.

My boss is on C-SPAN right now speaking in front of members of Emily's List!

I've just watched the entire concert from the UK - it was great - so many artists (was looking out for Jake, Maggie or even Reese but no luck) and Obama himself getting funky. Makes me wish I was in America right now. Enjoy your celebrations - we'll be celebrating over here too.

That was a fun, moving concert. Very enjoyable, especially my U2 boys :) Loved Pete Seeger.

I loved the little girl who slept through practically the whole thing. I think it was Obama's niece. Little kids can be so funny. And the Obama girls are just too cute.

HBO is repeating the show at 7:00, FYI.

I was watching it too!!!It was really a fun event. Pete Seeger rocks, UV!!! I really enjoyed John Legend and John Mellencamp, too. Garth Brooks, Mary J. Blige, The Boss, etc. etc., etc. Yes, Obama's little niece was wiped out. I subscribe to HBO, but I'm glad it was aired for everyone to enjoy! Did anyone notice during Pete Seeger's performance, that George Lucas and his SO were down in the audience singing and clowning around? Everyone is in such an exuberant mood!

Loved the concert, and i saw the little girl sleeping through the whole thing, had no idea that was Obama's niece!

What an amazing event, I have goosebumps.

Everyone is so excited about Obama nd the new administration. I'm no fan of Beyonce but she sang her heart out!

Enjoy your celebrations - we'll be celebrating over here too.

I love that people around the world are sharing our excitement and hope! : )

Thanks to HBO for the free coverage of the concert. (Loved seeing Pete Seeger, too!) What a great way to kick the inauguration off.

I think that it's great that the rest of the world is just as excited as we are! Watching Pete Seeger perform was incredible and Mellencamp rocked!

Thanks for the heads up UV on HBO airing the concert at 7:00!

The concert and inauguration events are so exciting! I was hoping maybe Jake and Reese might be in DC with Maggie and Peter for all this. So historic.

Thanks again for all the new Jake/Reese info and pics.

I bet Reese and Jake go to the farm on weekends, so we see them a lot during the week, but we hardly ever see them on the weekends.

Anonymous said...

Yes get real, this is a truly historic moment and so exciting! that concert yesterday was incredible.

Martin Luther King's birthday is being observed today on the eve of the inauguration of Barck Obama, the first African-American President.

I thought that I would never see this day, the excitement, the hope, it's all inspiring. He has his work cut out for him and it won't be easy but for the first time in a long while I feel proud and hopeful for this nation.

So much positive energy coming out of DC and every where else in America. A truly hopeful and historic moment in this country's history.

Anon: I always thought the ranch in Ojai was more than a weekend getaway for those two.

Anonymous said...

Wouldn't it be hard to be at the farm when the kids are with you and they have to be in school? And if Jake is doing re-shoots he would have to stay around town. Except, if they have the kids right now, today is a school holiday? Then maybe they went to the farm after school on Friday and they are there for the long weekend.

Anonymous said...

MLK is a national holiday, if they are there for the weekend then it would a three day weekend. I doubt Jake is doing reshoots on the weekends, it would be done during the week.

I think that it takes about 90 min. to drive from Brentwood to Ojai, more if they hit traffic. J&R spend a lot of time in Santa Barbara/Carpinteria as well.

Ryan has the kids half the time don't forget.

For everyone that has the day off for the MLK holiday, please don't forget the reason we are celebrating this day and take pride in what is happening now, truly inspiring and remarkable.

Anonymous said...

I've never heard that they spend a lot of time in Carpinteria/Santa Barbara, arianna, and I doubt that it is true. What would be your source?

The children love the farm in Ojai and the animals, and there are stables nearby. Jake is also doing peojects on the farm.

There isn't any place that can compete with that. Ryan's house certainly isn't very child friendly. Unless he's done some major revisions.

Very excited about this afternoon (5pm my time), I'll still be at work, but the radio will be on, and I should be able to see it on the net - just one of those moments you really, really want to share with everyone.

Anonymous said...

Yes, it's an exciting day AK! I took off from work today. I couldn't make the trip to DC but our community center will be showing the inaguration on a big flat screen at the center. There will be a inaguration bash/party afterwards.

A lot of communities are dong this, what an amazing time to be an American and be able to be a witness to this !!!

Anonymous said...

Forgot to add: I would love to know how everyone here plans on participating in the inaguration today? TV, radio, the internet, parties at home, anyone in DC?

And a shout out to the other NY peeps, get real and sass! Would love to hear what your plans are.

Morning, chica and Agent K. I'm working from home today. Too excited to be in the office and not be able to watch and absorb, laugh and cry.

In the spirit of inauguration, we finally have a new post :)
