Jake Gyllenhaal action on the red carpet in Madrid for the Spanish premiere of Enemy:

All spiffed up to meet and greet.

Where do I go?

I'll just stay right here.

Meet the Enemy. An Enemy?

Just Enemy. Okay.

Someone's creeping up on me.

I'm out of here.

That way to the movie...

Hope you all enjoy the show.

Jake and Denis did a lot of interviews for Prisoners. I wasn't expecting the same for Enemy. There aren't as many, but there are quite a few. The one above, from Time Out New York really should be longer. Jake seems very relaxed and gets a kick out of the TONY's throwback cover.

Putting this review at the end, as the code is likely to interfere with the rest of the post. Tweet from the interviewer: Jake Gyllenhaal is a very serious man. It's impossible to escape his STARE. You try.

Once again, thank you for all the treasures, UV! I'm so glad Jake was able to be in Madrid for this.

I have to say that this poster, with the city & the spider coming out of his skull, is my favorite Enemy poster. My second favorite is the red one.

The most badass boom operator you'll ever meet with my favourite Jake Gyllenhaal #reign #sounddept @vinlays

I have to say Denis loves Jake even more than me LOL :)

thanks UV what a lovely post :)

I'm a bit confused. Was Denis in Madrid as well?

Great pics! I was expecting Jake to be veeeeery beardy, but it's not as bad as I thought. Either that, or I'm getting used to his beardiness... ;) He looks fine. Nice suit too!

Thanks UV, as always! x

Jake Gyllenhaal nos ha contado que le gustaria hacer más pelis sobre el detective Loki de #Prisioneros #Enemy

Jake Gyllenhaal has told us that he would like to do more films about Detective Loki # # Enemy Prisoners

Y, aunque modesto, ha dicho que no le importaría salir en la 2ªT de #TrueDetective Jake Gyllenhaal #Enemy #TrueDetectiveSeason2

'Everest,' starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin & more, has moved from early 2015 to September 18th, 2015. #goodsign

I'd like to have their optimism. LOL I'm not sure, if people want to watch a movie with snow, snow and snow again in September. Jake is gradually turning into the king of September (but it's still the weakest month at the box office).

Optimist said...

Cause you're the king of pessimism, Hagen. You've been pessimistic about Prisoners since the start of 2013: Jake isn't the lead, his part is small, what if his face won't be on the poster? 6 months after, turns out Jake is the co-lead, his face is on the poster, he has more screen time than Hugh, more raves in the press and he's doing the heavy lifting for promotion.

A february release kills off any chances for awards and the month isn't famous for big BO numbers. Moving Everest to september puts the film back on the awards map with a Toronto festival preview. Much better.

Well, I think September is a good sign. February is one of the worst for a movie.

Jeff Sneider think is a sign of confidence:

In a sign of confidence, Universal Pictures to release EVEREST in 3D & IMAX 3D on Friday, September 18, 2015 instead of February 27, 2015.

Collider thinks the same: "the date change is encouraging since Universal might think they have an awards contender if they’ve moved the picture to the fall".

Oh God, I hope so! He was awesome as Loki. And it'll give him the chance to work with Denis again.
Fingers crossed!

After seeing the brilliantly confounding #Enemy I am convinced that #JakeGyllenhaal should be regarded as one of our great actors,

Optimist, I think you've tried this tact before. It was silly then and it's silly now. If you have something to say, say it. No need to try to drag Hagen down.

I don't even see a post from you in the last month or so. Hagen manages to "pessimistically" post here all the time and contribute to the discussion.

I think the move to September is a good sign, but Everest still doesn't feel like an awards movie.

Curious when Nightcrawler will play.

Mary, thank you for appreciating the captions :)

That Rod Lurie tweet is very cool.

The reviews for Enemy have been mostly positive, I can't wait to see it when it hopefully is shown in my neck of the woods!

I have to say that I'm starting to like Jake's homage to Joaquin Phoenix look!

Does anyone know when Jake will get finished filming Everest? Will he be going to Iceland too?

I am glad Enemy and Jake's acting are getting so much praise.

Hagen said...

Will he be going to Iceland too?

The "Everest" cast won't be filming in Iceland. At some point Iceland was considered as one of the filming locations for "Everest", as an alternative to Italy. However Iceland wasn't competitive since South Tyrol subsidized the shooting. At least that's what Kormákur told an Icelandic website.

Deadline: A24 expanded Enemy into 95 additional theaters in its second round, holding decently. It grossed over $206K for a $2,148 average.

Wow. According to Deadline, Sam Worthington and Robin Wright have just been announced as cast in Everest. She'll play Beck Weather's wife.

I'm not at all excited to see Sam Worthington join the cast. He is charisma-free.

I'm a Robin Wright fan but wonder if she'll be wasted.

Welcome, EFK. That was a great review for Jake.

Tweety, I can't go that far :)

New post.
