Dastan and Donnie

You may have noticed EmpireOnline has released a couple new shots from Prince of Persia.

Let us take a moment to pore over these fine sepia-toned shots. In that first shot, is anyone else getting an 80s rocker vibe? The trousers that look like skin-tight leather, the shirt open down to his navel, the hairy chest, the wild hair? I think I like it!

Speaking of Jake characters as action figures. You might think that LEGO was the first to immortalize a Jake Gyllenhaal film character in miniature, but you'd be wrong.

Not so long ago artist Wade Schin created a one of a kind Donnie Darko figurine which puts the LEGO Jake to shame. Sadly, it was a one-off piece of artwork that sold for $750.00.

Dastan in miniature

According to FBTB.net, LEGO and Disney have premiered their new Prince of Persia line at Comic-Con today.

Herewith a little Dastan, with obligatory facial fuzz.

I suppose I like this set enough, yet there really doesn't seem to be much of a difference between this new, exclusive PoP set and the earlier DIY PoP pieces.

Jake Gyllenhaal stepped out on Wednesday night for a low-key outing with another famous face. But don’t worry Reese, it wasn’t another gal!.The actor hit up a baseball game in Los Angeles with his brother-in-law Peter Sarsgaard.

“Jake was there with Peter and some other guy, it looked like another dad,” an onlooker told RadarOnline.com. The threesome sat in the Dugout Club seats as they cheered with the rest of the sellout crowd as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds 6-2.

According to EW: For a sweet, glossy copy of the photo and other exclusive first looks, be sure to pick up this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly.

Check. Sweet and glossy gets delivered right to my door. But EW neglected to say there would be writing all over the sweet and glossy and that none of the background art would be included.

I guess that's the point. It does embiggen to huge proportions if you click on it.


In other news, how does a month and a half pass without me knowing Jake's made the big time? And by that I mean - 36 Across from the NYTimes Crossword on 6/8/09.

Bowled over

Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon leaving the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday night, after attending a Ray LaMontagne/Jenny Lewis concert. Jake seemed by turns amused and annoyed; Reese bubbly, buzzed and bugged.






These photos of Reese and Jake have led to many amusing captions, including:

Jake: "Get off of my car!"
Reese: "How much is that doggy in the window?*"


Reese: You wanna piece of me?"


"... the one with the waggly tail..."


Reese: "Just say the word and we'll take this outside, mister!"

Poster Boy

Cinematical just got their hands on a teaser poster for Brothers. This might make up for YouTube pulling all Brothers trailers due to copyright infringement. Pfft. Please.

It might make up for it had TPTB not gone and screwed around with the most perfect left profile in all of showbusiness. Something is most assuredly OFF in that poster. What have those studio photoshoppers done to you, Jake??

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Jake Gyllenhaal, new poster boy for Intelligentsia/Venice.
