MCM
Sure, MCM usually stands for Man Candy Monday. Or Man Crush Monday. We're going with Memory Card Monday. Above is a photo posted on Facebook from a before-he-was-famous photoshoot. Probably this one. Below, an assortment of recently posted pics from the far and not-so-distant past.

Meet the press
Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Wilson met the press today to discuss their Broadway debut(s) in Constellations, a play by Nicholas Payne. The Manhattan Theatre Club production is a "mind-bending, romantic journey begins with a simple encounter between a man and a woman (Gyllenhaal and Wilson). But what happens next defies the boundaries of the world we think we know – delving into the infinite possibilities of their relationship and raising questions about the difference between choice and destiny."
They were joined by director Michael Longhurst. Gyllenhaal, Payne and Longhurst all worked together on Jake's NY stage debut, If There Is I Haven't Found It Yet. And Wilson and Longhurst went to college together. So there's a sense of old friends and new horizons.
Why so serious?
Come on, lighten up!
That's better.

It's the Most "We're Wonderful" Time of the Year
That's right - it's Awards Season! For the next four months, Hollywood will fete and fawn over itself on a near-weekly basis. For the past three years, Jake Gyllenhaal's worthy turns have gone unrecognized. This year could be different. But I wouldn't get my hopes up. Let's just try to enjoy the ride and hope Jake gets a ticket.
The Academy kicked things off with the Governors Awards, and Jake was in attendance.
Earlier in the day, Jake took part in Variety's Actor on Actor series. He was paired with Boyhood's Patricia Arquette.
Kudos to the photographer for getting Jake to smile.
There was also an Everest mini-reunion:
Sunday, Jake appeared at the AFI Fest Indie Contenders Roundtable, with Tilda Swinton, Kristen Stewart, Michelle Monaghan, Bill Hader, Marion Cotillard, Damien Chazzelle (Whiplash) and J. C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year):

BAM posted a photo and account of Jake's Theater of War performance:
These are some of the responses from a unique presentation on September 28 at the BAM Fisher. Theater of War is a table reading of two Sophocles’ tragedies—Ajax and Philoctetes—with the purpose of prompting the audience to understand the psychological impact wars impose on combat warriors and people close to them. Four actors participated in the BAM event. Frances McDormand, with short platinum hair, holding the script in front of her as if proclaiming an oracle, was a majestic Athena—until she put down her glasses and script and turned into an anguished Tecmessa, Ajax’s suffering wife who was powerless in preventing her husband’s suicide. Sitting next to her was Jake Gyllenhaal, arms crossed on his chest, shoulders slouched on the tabletop, ranting over the injustice imposed on him by his fellow councilors. Reg E. Cathey made the opportunist Odysseus almost noble. And with his unruly white hair and beard, David Strathairn looked exactly like Philoctetes who was abandoned on an island for 10 years.

Promo still Nightcrawling along
Jake Gyllenhaal and Dan Gilroy continue to promote Nightcrawler. Jake appeared on The Daily Show:
The duo appeared on Charlie Rose. (Video to come.) And from these photos, it looks like they were also on Morning Joe?
You can see the camaraderie and respect when jake and Dan appear together:
Jake's great gift, from an interview with Dan and Tony Gilroy:
DEADLINE: Jake Gyllenhaal’s character was too frantic to be robotic, but this was one odd, ruthless, soulless fellow. Where did you find that character?
DAN GILROY: The doorway was all these young people out there, desperate for work. My first instinct was to create a hero, but I realized an anti-hero took the story in a more fulfilling way. Jake read the script and we had a long dinner while he shot Prisoners. It became apparent we were completely in tune and wanted to explore not necessarily the sociopathic tendencies of the character, but to try to create an inner landscape. This is Jake’s great gift. He immersed himself in this character and made him human. The loneliness, that frantic desire for an outsider to connect and communicate with people, but somehow it never comes out right. I don’t know what it is he does, but you can’t take your eyes off him. Even when he’s doing horrible things he can be charming. He got so lost in this part in such a great way, it was remarkable to watch.
The interview is an interesting look at the Gilroy family and their history and creative process. (Brother John edited NC, and Tony was a producer.)
It's impossible to keep up with all the interviews and appearances. But here's a random assortment of ones that stood out or seemed interesting to me:
