Bobbyanna, your skepticism about a premiere at the Cannes Film Festival is well founded: Pathé International has pushed back the delivery date for "An Enemy" from spring to summer 2013. Pathé has confirmed the release date in France (August 28th) in its updated sales catalog.

It could still premiere there and come out later in the summer, I guess...

I think Cannes is a very likely. It happens all the time that films are presented at festivals and not released to months later. The only thing that would keep the film from showing at Cannes is if it's not picked.
I don't believe the producers or director would turn down the invitation.

Yes, of course, that's possible and not unusual. I feel a bit insecure about a premiere in Cannes, because Pathé changed the 'delivery date' of "An Enemy", whatever that means, from spring to summer 2013. (A successful presentation at a European film festival - either in Cannes or in Venice - could be crucial to find a distributor in Germany.)

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal has a new lady in his life after reportedly striking up a relationship with a Sports Illustrated model he met during exercise classes in New York.
The Brokeback Mountain star has been largely single since splitting from country singer Taylor Swift in January, 2011, but he's been enjoying a blossoming romance with brunette beauty Emily DiDonato for the past "month or two," according to Us Weekly magazine.
The pair is said to have met after attending the same SoulCycle spin classes in Manhattan.

Jake is stopping traffic in Atlanta.
As we head in to March, movie making season steps up a notch, leaving the dreak, bleak and dark award season behind to history. Jake Gyllenhaal is busy at work filming Prisoners, breaking off occasionally to eat and drink. The next big bout of filming has been announced and it looks like that from 19-22 March Jake will be doing something that comes entirely natural to him - stopping traffic. The Buzz reports that Prisoners is moving to the Atlanta Medical Center South Campus.

About the movies - I'm rooting for the Alaska film, if and when it's filmed on location.
I studied acting in Anchorage for a year and I still have plenty of contact to the local acting and movie people. So I could sneak one of "my" people on set and get all kind of exclusives. LOL
I don't want Shia in it though.
As for the star on walk of fame. I research that a while ago. Anybody can name anyone for a star as long as that person has been working in the requested category for at least 5 years and has made contributions to society. Both things apply to Jake.
You have to submit a CV with picture to the Hollywood Historic Trust, plus pay a "fee" of 30.000 $ with the submission.
Fans may submit a suggestion, but only with the written consent of the star's management. (Not sure if Jake's management would authorize that.)
Dead stars may be nominated 5 years after their death earliest. So this is the first year Heath actually can be suggested.
Deadline for suggestion is May 31st. So technically Heath could receive a star sometime later this year.
As for James - I also think it's Disney who had their hands on that one.
As for the airplane and waitress tweets - one of the extras on Prisoners told Mermon the other day that Jake is not back on set until Friday (today), so I guess both tweets were correct.

"Oz the Great & Powerful" opens this weekend. Please go see it if you can. The entire movie was shot here in Michigan. It was the last big movie to shoot here.
Our new governor cut film subsidies to a maximum of $25M total for the year, and we lost a lot of revenue and jobs. Film production's dropped to almost nothing.
There's legislation pending to increase it. If Oz is a success it will strengthen the argument in favor of raising the cap.
Look at it this way. Maybe Jake will come here to make a movie and we can all use my house as "base camp." : )

Not really my cuppa, but both Liam Neeson and another actor whose name is escaping me did well in this sort of wilderness thriller/psychological study.
One of my friends loves "Into the Wild" starring Emile Hirsch. I enjoyed watching the landscape, but I didn't get the psychological drama. But it's certainly a valid point that both "Into the Wild" and "The Grey" (which I haven't seen yet) got favorable reviews.

About the movies - I'm rooting for the Alaska film, if and when it's filmed on location.
Apparently Alex Walton, Exclusive Media's President of International Sales and Distribution, told Sasha Bühler, Head of Acquisitions at Constantin Film, that Jake might play the lead. Exclusive Media is one of the production companies behind EoW, so EoW could be helpful for Jake to land further roles.

That's great news, FP. It looks like "An Enemy" has been completed.
I've overlooked a movie on the leaked list that mentions Jake (because his name was misspelled):
"Forbidden City" directed by Chuck Russell
Cast: Donny Yen and maybe Jake Gyllenhaal
Translated logline: "In 1949 CIA-agent Jack Burnham returns to China to find a Japanese war criminal. He starts to investigate in Beijing, shortly before the insurgence of Mao's popular front. The task is more dangerous than Burnham thought because his own people play a double game."
Apparently the project is based on a book ("The Last Mandarin" by Stephen Becker) and has been in development for a long time.
Anyway it's good to know that Jake seems to be in demand. So chances are good that he'll find an interesting project.

While actor Peter Sarsgaard ("Garden State," "An Education") was penning the screenplay himself, McDougall told Relaxnews that the writing project is back in his hands, with the movie possibly filming this summer. ...
McDougall told Relaxnews that the film adaptation negotiations have recently been "on the griddle," with him taking on the project after finding Sarsgaard's screenplay to be misguided. Sarsgaard also was hoping to make this project his directorial debut, but McDougall, who was excited about working with the "Jake/Peter combo," said the working relationship with Sarsgaard has become acrimonious.

Thanks for the Born to Run info, UV. I pray he dodged that bullet. It seemed to me that this was mostly Peter's obssession and it's not ending well with McDougall.I think I read something a while ago that said McDougall had taken the project back and was working on his own screenplay.
I was never happy with this film about BTR, sounded more like a Discovery Channel documentary, but I feel for Peter. He seemed so invested in it.
Must have been a big disappointment.

Thank you, but frankly my 'investigations' are mostly a web search for ' "An Enemy" Villeneuve ' (past 24 hours). ;-) There aren't many google hits for that search string, so I can see at a quick glance if there's anything new happening. (I search for "Mississippi Grind" and ' "Prisoners" Villeneuve ' as well.)
BTW I'm grateful that people on this blog are searching on Twitter which I do only occasionally. So we complement each other very well. :-)

I Totally agree with you! We doent see ennything only one rumor that spread out in all the media that they are dating. and it already hold down. Like it stopt the day after, nobody talks about it ennymore even the gossip pages.
The fackt that we doent see ore hear ennything from ore about Jake doesnt mean that he is also in Jamaica. Dont forget that the cast of Prisoners may not take photo's during shooting.
The last thing I hear is that Jake is stil with Mahsa , and I dont believe when you break up with someone , that you post pic of them together on instagram ore FB. even when Jake looks the same in the pics as now he is in prisoners.
