These are the Lucille Lortel theatre awards. There are several other awards presented to Off-Broadway productions, the Obies, which are the Village Voice's Awards, and the Drama Desk Awards, are others that I know of.
Most people are familiar with the Tony Awards, and those are for Broadway plays. These others are for off-Broadway & for the non-profit theatre community, which Roundabout is part of.
Unlike most theatre awards, the Obies do not publicize nominations or employ rigid categories. In the "conviction that creativity is not competitive, the judges select outstanding artists and productions and may even invent new categories to reward artistic merit," according to press notes.

In my country EOW is the #1 in the dvd blu R chart, Eow is doing better than Breaking Dawn and that is pretty amazing,with zero pubblicity, and even when the movie come out gotten a very small number of Theaters and again zero publicity Go Jake:)

I loved seeing the Lortel awards news in the Hollywood Reporter, with Jake's name and photo right next to Vanessa Redgrave's. : )
I am sad about Roger Ebert, but I also admire the way he lived his life, staying relevant and working at something he truly loved until the last minute.: ) There is something lovely about the way he embraced life, and his passion for his work.

Roger Ebert was one of the last legitimate movie critics imo and I always looked forward to his review. He fought a long and hard battle and was brave and an inspiration. May he RIP.

Scott, we don't know if Jake was in talks to Jane Got a Gun. The director said he had his eye on him, Tobey and Jeff. But we don't know if he talked to Jake. I think it's good to jake to have a break until the start of filming of MG. Interpreting a player, I think he will need a training. Additionally, he's a producer, which should keep him busy.
What caught my attention in the choice of Bradley is that he's still shooting ABSCAM. The shooting of this film will until mid of May, so Cooper must start filming Jane Got a Gun in late May or early June. We know that MG begins filming in the summer, so...

Dozen is in Pittsburgh. So yes while he was filming LAOD. She posted that pic at the time I remember.

I loved seeing the Lortel awards news in the Hollywood Reporter, with Jake's name and photo right next to Vanessa Redgrave's. : )
ReplyDeleteI am sad about Roger Ebert, but I also admire the way he lived his life, staying relevant and working at something he truly loved until the last minute.: ) There is something lovely about the way he embraced life, and his passion for his work.

Well that's a wrap for the movie PRISONERS with Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhal, and Terrence Howard. Just experienced a big toast with the crew and Hugh gave a lil speech. It was a pretty good night!

Well I don't think Collin is attached either but is it a remake of the old movie? I read the plot online, it could have potential if the screenplay is any good but highly doubt Jake would attach himself to that producer who is rather slimey.
ReplyDeleteScott, we don't know if Jake was in talks to Jane Got a Gun. The director said he had his eye on him, Tobey and Jeff. But we don't know if he talked to Jake.
ReplyDeleteI think it's good to jake to have a break until the start of filming of MG. Interpreting a player, I think he will need a training. Additionally, he's a producer, which should keep him busy.
What caught my attention in the choice of Bradley is that he's still shooting ABSCAM. The shooting of this film will until mid of May, so Cooper must start filming Jane Got a Gun in late May or early June. We know that MG begins filming in the summer, so...
