Thanks for the posting. I knew today was national hugging day and I got some hugs myself. Of course the first two hugs will always be special to me. I miss Heath SO much and I can't believe it's been Four Fucking Years either. I can only imagine how Jake must feel.

you are probably correct about the JC reject, well in her own head. I am willing to bet you, she does like him but is in complete denial or she is like some women who stand it when a man is better looking than them; Jake has a lot of haters men and women who strongly dislike him becaue he so good looking, they might claim that his movies are horrible but has never seen a JG movie. Its not unusal, it happens all the time to non movie starts. And then on the plus, Jake has alot of people (men (not necessarily gay men) and women who love him because he is so good looking.

I saw her comment on the Golden Globes. I wonder if he did something to her in the past and that is why she tries to put him down all the time.

I saw Tintin. Very good film that recalls the good times of Spielberg. The action scenes are cartoonish and remembering the best moments of Indiana Jones.

Not necessarily. I agree with UV. If they are simply "Casting scenes" for a music video, he could be, but doesn't really have to be there. It didn't sound as if they're actually shooting the final video. Maybe he will be in the video when they shoot the actual footage.
Gs we also had several tweets that he signed an autograph in LA, and he was at a club in Silverlake, watching a band play on Saturday night in L.A. The tweet about cycling was from Sunday morning in the UK. Not possible, unless he is magic. LOL!
it is often hard to tell if people are joking, teasing, or serious. Jake is often "seen" on planes, buses, trains, classrooms, stores, restaurants, etc.
Seeing one tweet isn't always going to give us accurate information. Not saying it isn't true, just saying it is not likely.

I saw The Artist yesterday. I didn't love it, though I applaud the moviemakers for doing something different. The lead actor is incredible. I wasn't crazy about the lead actress, however.
I was hoping that was a script under Jake's arm in the pics today, but it's either an iPad or a MacBook Air.

The Academy Award nominations will be announced today. Everyone expects Michelle to get her 3rd nomination. The pics in this post reminds me of the day back in 2006 when BBM, Jake, Heath and Michelle were nominated.
But Kenneth Brannaugh's performance over Eddie Redmayne? Rooney Mara? McCarthy from Bridesmaids? Well, at least Leo and J. Edgar, and Clint Eastwood were not included. So there's that.
"Extremely Loud" has been getting terrible reviews, yet it got a best picture nomination. Happy Midnight in Paris made the cut. : )

While AMPAS never fails to disappoint, : )...I never expected Fassbender to make the cut, because it was so competitive, and he has so little support among the AMPAS voters. The buzz is that his campaign started late.
Bobbyana, Rooney Mara is young and she changed the look for the character, something that the Academy loves. She also had strong support from the critics.
Congrats on Michelle's 3rd nomination and for Oldman's 1st (That is hard to believe!)
I was surprised at Rooney's nomination but I heard that she was good and the Academy loves newcomers.
Extremely Loud's nomination is a surprise, the buzz on that has been lukewarm and Kenneth didn't deserve his nomination for My Weekend with Marilyn, it's one of his weakest performances IMO.
OK. Guess, I'll have to overcome my bias and go see Dragon Tattoo. I just felt like Noomi Rapace defined the character so well, I haven't even wanted to see Fincher's. Also, it's such a harrowing, intense story. I'd seen all three Swedish originals, and suffered thru the books with Lisbeth Salander. (sigh.)
I felt bad Eddie Redmanye didn't get recognition for MWWM. I just don't care for Branaugh in general, and you're right, Chica. He was weak.
Lawrence Olivier seemed to radiate intelligence and energy even when he was quiet on the surface. KB didn't get it. Eddie and Michelle had great chemistry.
bobbyanna, I hope you like Fincher's version of the Dragon Tattoo. I've been twice...it's almost too intense and disturbing for me; I missed a lot of it the first time round. Rooney Mara gives an outstanding performance and is a fantastic actress. One of the actors in TDT had to lock himself in his room and cry for 24+ hours, to overcome his performance in this film. I can only imagine how he and all the other actors managed to stay sane with multiple takes of some of The Most disturing scenes I've ever witnessed in a movie
George Clooney and the Oscar round table included Michael F...but no nomination. George was happy leading each sentence with 4 letter words...surprising but he's so happy and it's supposed to be an intimate setting.
One of my my favs Gary Oldman. will win, I think...fingers xed.
It's hard to tell what the Academy will consider nominatable sometimes. I expected to hear Ryan Goslings's and Leo's name this morning but that didn't happen.
I enjoyed Leo's performance but the movie left me cold as did TIOM. George and Leo purchased that project, but they should have given that part to Jake not Ryan G. Good luck to all the nominees!

"Taxi Driver" was on tonight. Damn. Haven't seen it in years. I'd forgotten that Albert Brooks was in the movie. Travis Bickle is such an iconic character. It made me wish Jake would find something edgy and shocking and memorable like the De Niro role.

I don't think George C. was upset when Jake won the BAFTA. If i rem. correctly he seemed to be smiling. Having seen pictures of them together they seem to really enjoy talking to each other. Would love to see them work together.

Not necessarily. I agree with UV. If they are simply "Casting scenes" for a music video, he could be, but doesn't really have to be there. It didn't sound as if they're actually shooting the final video. Maybe he will be in the video when they shoot the actual footage.

it is often hard to tell if people are joking, teasing, or serious. Jake is often "seen" on planes, buses, trains, classrooms, stores, restaurants, etc.
Seeing one tweet isn't always going to give us accurate information. Not saying it isn't true, just saying it is not likely.

I saw The Artist yesterday. I didn't love it, though I applaud the moviemakers for doing something different. The lead actor is incredible. I wasn't crazy about the lead actress, however.

ReplyDeleteBut Kenneth Brannaugh's performance over Eddie Redmayne? Rooney Mara? McCarthy from Bridesmaids? Well, at least Leo and J. Edgar, and Clint Eastwood were not included. So there's that.
"Extremely Loud" has been getting terrible reviews, yet it got a best picture nomination. Happy Midnight in Paris made the cut. : )

ReplyDeleteWhile AMPAS never fails to disappoint, : )...I never expected Fassbender to make the cut, because it was so competitive, and he has so little support among the AMPAS voters. The buzz is that his campaign started late.
Bobbyana, Rooney Mara is young and she changed the look for the character, something that the Academy loves.

Extremely Loud's nomination is a surprise, the buzz on that has been lukewarm and Kenneth didn't deserve his nomination for My Weekend with Marilyn, it's one of his weakest performances IMO.
Despite how annoying she is, I think Rooney Mara's nomination is well deserved.

OK. Guess, I'll have to overcome my bias and go see Dragon Tattoo. I just felt like Noomi Rapace defined the character so well, I haven't even wanted to see Fincher's. Also, it's such a harrowing, intense story. I'd seen all three Swedish originals, and suffered thru the books with Lisbeth Salander. (sigh.)

I felt bad Eddie Redmanye didn't get recognition for MWWM. I just don't care for Branaugh in general, and you're right, Chica. He was weak.

ReplyDeleteRooney Mara gives an outstanding performance and is a fantastic actress.
One of the actors in TDT had to lock himself in his room and cry
for 24+ hours, to overcome his performance in this film. I can only imagine how he and all the other actors managed to stay sane with multiple takes of some of The Most disturing scenes I've ever witnessed in a movie
George Clooney and the Oscar round table included Michael F...but no nomination. George was happy leading each sentence with 4 letter words...surprising but he's so happy and it's supposed to be an intimate setting.
One of my my favs Gary Oldman. will win, I think...fingers xed.
It's hard to tell what the Academy will consider nominatable sometimes. I expected to hear Ryan Goslings's and Leo's name this morning but that didn't happen.
I enjoyed Leo's performance but the movie left me cold as did TIOM. George and Leo purchased that project, but they should have given that part to Jake not Ryan G.

Not surprised that Leo didn't make the cut, nor the film. I have nothing against Oscar-baity films like Hoover, but they have to be good, and Hoover was just tedious.

ReplyDelete"Taxi Driver" was on tonight. Damn. Haven't seen it in years. I'd forgotten that Albert Brooks was in the movie. Travis Bickle is such an iconic character. It made me wish Jake would find something edgy and shocking and memorable like the De Niro role.

I don't think George C. was upset when Jake won the BAFTA. If i rem. correctly he seemed to be smiling. Having seen pictures of them together they seem to really enjoy talking to each other. Would love to see them work together.
