My Christmas day at work was calm, maybe it's not the right word to describe a emergency room, but it was a lot better than i expected, I'm off this next 3 days to relax, but I can´t stop thinking I've to work new year's eve as well, dam it! monica, what you say is very true, about people promoting movies, or being nominees. I think it's a long shot, but still possible that he might present for one of the shows. I 'm not very optimistic tho, so I'm glad he accepted the invitation to serve on the jury.
FYI: Indiewire posted a list of movies they thought were awful -it wasn't "scientific," just an internal staff list. But they posted it on their site, and SC was on it! I commented. I hope other will too, if they get a chance.
I'd rather go on a cruise too, I'm not much of a snow person (unless Jake wants to keep me warm. I know he knows how to build a cave for us, he must have learned a lot from Bear in the wilderness)

I don't think these people actually SAW Source Code, either that or they were watching it with their eyes closed. It kept me at the edge of my seat. I love traveling by train and while I would love to be on a train with Jake, I wouldn't have wanted to be on THAT train.
Last year when I was traveling on Amtrak up to Boston I saw someone sitting across from me who looked, at least from the back, like Jake. When he stood up he had the same body type. Now convinced that Jake came back to LA to sell his home last week. He has permanently moved to NYC which is good for him. I think he has outgrown (as a person) LA. I like NYC Jake better, whether he smiles or not, he seems more content. He can breathe without paps and his fans alike judging him. And yes some of his fans do judge him, seeing him on the movie screen is all that he owes his fans.
How do you know he sold his home in Los Angeles? He may well have bought in NY, but did not have to sell the other, it may have many jobs in Los Angeles

OK. Here's my "big" (not) Jake story. : ) A friend was kind enough to get me a ticket for the Gala screening of Rendition. There were four of us. We were way up in the rafters at Thompson Hall, but we were there, and we saw everything very well.
Before the movie started, there was a rope line inside the theatre lobby right next to the red carpet. As the VIPs walked passed, (Reese W., Gavin Hood, etc.) Jake came thru, and I very, very lightly tapped his elbow. He turned towards me, and I said, "I saw the movie at an earlier screening today, and it was excellent! It was really, really good!" And he nodded, smiled, and said...as he rushed away, "Awww, thank you! Thank you SO much! That's great!"
That's it. Not a big deal at all...but still... ; )
If you go to IHJ gallery, and go "Public Appearances" then click on "Premieres" Toronto Film Festival, 2007, you can see exactly how incredible he looks that night. There was a huge crowd across the street and in front of the theatre, but we were inside. I think Clooney's movie was also showing that night,or Pitt? after Jake's movie ended. Don't really remember too much.
I don't understand all this talk about New York and Los Angeles. Jake was always between NY and LA. There are several pictures of him in these two cities over the years. In fact, he goes to LA, NY and Martha's Vineyard. I think last year he spent the summer on Martha's Vineyard.
Bobbyanna I went to IHJ and he does look hot. I liked the black polka dot tie and the vest look. I enjoy you're getting to meet him and speak to him if only for a few seconds.

I don't think Jake would give up his place in LA, as an actor I think it is important for him to have a base in LA. Heath had kept a home there (bought Ellen G's Treehouse home and kept it even though he lived in Brooklyn) Jake has said, in the past, that Calif was his home. But he's lived in NY before and his family is in NY, so I think he likes both coasts. imo.

I want to wish everyone a safe New Years. I hope Jake has a happy one too, whichever coast he's on. I don't understand the whole NY VS Calif (I'm a native NYer, btw. I've never been to Calif but would LOVE to go, I have family and friends who live out there.)
Jake has been bi coastal, I think he has always been. His parents had homes on both coasts so I think going between Calif and NY is natural for him. He was born in CA, grew up primarily out there and he started his career out there. So it was his home. But NY holds a piece of his heart, he went to Columbia, his sister makes her home with her family in NY. So of course it's a second home for him. He has tons of friends on both coasts. I won't be surprised if he has bought a home in NY. plenty of people (I'm not just saying celebs) have more than one home. (at least Jake has never been one of those celebs who has more home than one person could possibly live in. He impresses me as a guy who has a level head on his shoulders and tries to live as 'normal' a life as he can)
I'm getting ready to dinner with my family and then I'm off to work the night shift, but at midnight I'll find time to raise my glass and celebrate 2012:)

In a film about Linda Lovelace. Filming began last week in Los Angeles.

ReplyDeleteNow convinced that Jake came back to LA to sell his home last week. He has permanently moved to NYC which is good for him. I think he has outgrown (as a person) LA. I like NYC Jake better, whether he smiles or not, he seems more content. He can breathe without paps and his fans alike judging him. And yes some of his fans do judge him, seeing him on the movie screen is all that he owes his fans.

OK. Here's my "big" (not) Jake story. : ) A friend was kind enough to get me a ticket for the Gala screening of Rendition. There were four of us. We were way up in the rafters at Thompson Hall, but we were there, and we saw everything very well.
ReplyDeleteBefore the movie started, there was a rope line inside the theatre lobby right next to the red carpet. As the VIPs walked passed, (Reese W., Gavin Hood, etc.) Jake came thru, and I very, very lightly tapped his elbow. He turned towards me, and I said, "I saw the movie at an earlier screening today, and it was excellent! It was really, really good!" And he nodded, smiled, and said...as he rushed away, "Awww, thank you! Thank you SO much! That's great!"
That's it. Not a big deal at all...but still... ; )

If you go to IHJ gallery, and go "Public Appearances" then click on "Premieres" Toronto Film Festival, 2007, you can see exactly how incredible he looks that night. There was a huge crowd across the street and in front of the theatre, but we were inside. I think Clooney's movie was also showing that night,or Pitt? after Jake's movie ended. Don't really remember too much.

ReplyDeleteI don't understand all this talk about New York and Los Angeles. Jake was always between NY and LA.
There are several pictures of him in these two cities over the years.
In fact, he goes to LA, NY and Martha's Vineyard. I think last year he spent the summer on Martha's Vineyard.
Bobbyanna I went to IHJ and he does look hot. I liked the black polka dot tie and the vest look. I enjoy you're getting to meet him and speak to him if only for a few seconds.

I don't think Jake would give up his place in LA, as an actor I think it is important for him to have a base in LA. Heath had kept a home there (bought Ellen G's Treehouse home and kept it even though he lived in Brooklyn) Jake has said, in the past, that Calif was his home. But he's lived in NY before and his family is in NY, so I think he likes both coasts. imo.

I want to wish everyone a safe New Years. I hope Jake has a happy one too, whichever coast he's on. I don't understand the whole NY VS Calif (I'm a native NYer, btw. I've never been to Calif but would LOVE to go, I have family and friends who live out there.)
ReplyDeleteJake has been bi coastal, I think he has always been. His parents had homes on both coasts so I think going between Calif and NY is natural for him. He was born in CA, grew up primarily out there and he started his career out there. So it was his home. But NY holds a piece of his heart, he went to Columbia, his sister makes her home with her family in NY. So of course it's a second home for him. He has tons of friends on both coasts. I won't be surprised if he has bought a home in NY. plenty of people (I'm not just saying celebs) have more than one home. (at least Jake has never been one of those celebs who has more home than one person could possibly live in. He impresses me as a guy who has a level head on his shoulders and tries to live as 'normal' a life as he can)
