My hunch is that everyone wanted to get the hell out of dodge.

Anyway, it's done. Russell has reserved the right to "revamp" the scene they were filming at a later date, which was a very important one (it's the one where Jess gets the actual nail to the head). But he has decided that any "revamping" will be done in some California studio, if necessary.

The film is now officially in post-production.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082978304655465192.post-24232067842754046292008-06-23T18:01:00.000-04:002008-06-23T18:01:00.000-04:00I hope pOP will go smooth for Jake, no problems af...I hope pOP will go smooth for Jake, no problems after nailedAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082978304655465192.post-80397372366997900502008-06-23T17:49:00.000-04:002008-06-23T17:49:00.000-04:00Nailed is a mega mess, i'm so glad that Jake is fi...Nailed is a mega mess, i'm so glad that Jake is finished filming but I feel bad for Jessica because this is really a star vehicle for her.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082978304655465192.post-28014369529658016562008-06-23T14:46:00.000-04:002008-06-23T14:46:00.000-04:00http://www.cinemablend.comCapitol Films Nailed Ove...http://www.cinemablend.com

Capitol Films Nailed Over Financial Shortage
By Rafe Telsch: 2008-06-23 11:55:35

Capitol Films Nailed Over Financial Shortage You know the old saying, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again”? That seems to be the motto for the independent comedy Nailed, which stars Jessica Biel and Jake Gyllenhaal. The movie has now been shut down four times due to financial problems. You see, if you don’t pay the cast and crew, they don’t work. That’s the position financeer Capitol Films has found themselves in several times, the most recently coming Friday when members of the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees were ordered not to show up to work by their union after they weren’t paid.

You would think the producers at Capitol Films would know better. Variety’s story on the situation outlines three other shutdowns for the exact same problems, twice ordered by IATSE, and once by SAG when there wasn’t enough money in the production’s account to pay the actors.

Despite the studio’s financial woes, an inside source said production was expected to continue this week for the last two days of shooting, which includes a key scene for the movie. If I knew I was running short on funds, I probably would have moved key scenes up to make sure they were filmed before work stoppages occurred. Then again, since stoppages have been a trend throughout the past two months of filming, I guess there’s no real way to figure out where to put those key scenes.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082978304655465192.post-69590193320384852602008-06-23T14:22:00.000-04:002008-06-23T14:22:00.000-04:00My husband says I am spending too much time on thi...My husband says I am spending too much time on this celebrity stuff :(Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082978304655465192.post-1645653617044936022008-06-23T14:08:00.000-04:002008-06-23T14:08:00.000-04:00I'm not surprised about Armstrong, I hope for Huds...I'm not surprised about Armstrong, I hope for Hudson that this is just a fling.

PS: Interesting news about Jake and Reese, I'll keep my ears peeled!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082978304655465192.post-78224214567836881962008-06-23T13:24:00.000-04:002008-06-23T13:24:00.000-04:00Jake is destroying the competition there. Weekly reported.

Filming was expected to start again today, a source told Variety. The S.C. Film Commission said it did not know if shooting had resumed. Attempts to reach the production company of "Nailed" was unsuccessful today.

The independent movie's backer, Capitol Films, received financing this month to get filming restarted after the last stoppage by crew members that began on May 22 and lasted nearly two weeks.

The financing was supposed to be enough to get through the shooting and pay union penalties, sources told The Hollywood Reporter this month.

Still, the sources said at the time they don't know if there's enough money to last through post-production. "One more shutdown will kill the movie," a film executive told by The Hollywood Reporter this month.

The shoot around Columbia, which started in mid-April, was supposed to end Sunday.

Work on the movie was stopped three times during two weeks in May -- twice by the union representing movie crews after members were not paid and once by the actors union because not enough money was put into accounts used to pay its members.

"Nailed" is a political satire co-written by Kristin Gore, the former vice president's daughter, and the film's director David O. Russell.

Biel plays an uninsured receptionist who becomes sex-crazed after a maintenance worker accidentally shoots a nail into her head. She goes to Washington to fight for the rights of "bizarrely injured" people where she meets a congressman, played by Gyllenhaal, who takes advantage of her sex drive.

Columbia was chosen for filming, in part, because the State House could double for the U.S. Capitol.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082978304655465192.post-31713684008590624732008-06-23T09:54:00.000-04:002008-06-23T09:54:00.000-04:00Yes explain agent K!!Yes explain agent K!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5082978304655465192.post-18794335530946287752008-06-23T08:11:00.000-04:002008-06-23T08:11:00.000-04:00"...if by some miracle they rented via my agency, ..."...if by some miracle they rented via my agency, I wouldn't even say on this board - I'm sure you'd all understand why."

Hmmmmm.
