Buon appetito!

As Jake and Reese continue their cultural, retail and culinary tour of western Europe, a wee sign on the wall outside this establishment caught my eye.

It sounded so familiar. Then I remembered where I heard the name of the restaurant before.

I wonder if he suggested they order the artichokes?

Grazie a IHJ per le fotografie.

  1. I see the CZ has sanctioned international areas. Come se dice? Zona internazionale di comodità? O zona romana di comodità?

I love it, FL. But now I'm hungry, too!

    Buon fine settimana.-

  10. I wonder if he suggested they order the artichokes?

Hope so...... that artichoke dish looked incredible!

LOL at J's internationally sanctioned CZ...... but being a bit of a CZ person myself, I can relate.

Another great post, FL. I'm thinking you have a photographic memory!

  11. Sheba, may I help you? As Rosa di maggio said, in Italy we call "trattorie" a kind of restaurant where you can enjoy an homemade cooking often in a cozy atmosphere((but not always, depends on the restaurant or trattorie ratings). In the same way, prices depends on the ratings:you can find cheap trattorie and very very expensive trattorie.Every Italian region has a tradition of its own with regard to food.So there are many differences within the Italian food tradition. There are regional cuisines, so restaurants(ristoranti in italian) and trattorie tend to be specific to a region and many foods are associated with specific localities.Italian dining and drinking guide are often categorized by region.
Rosa di Maggio also identified Jake and Reese hotel as Hassler Hotel.
In Italia we say "Buon Appetito"(it means "take your time to enjoy your meal") before a dinner with friends.

    PS:
I personally believe that J&R are fond of a regional italian cuisine, but I cant guess which one because pics are very small and I can't identify the restaurant name.

Ps number 2.Scusa Rosa di Maggio se mi sono permessa di tradurre molto sommariamente quello che hai detto nel tuo post!

  12. OK! I found the restaurant:
    Da Enzo

    http://www.menudiroma.com/ita/locali/scheda.aspx?IDLocale=321

    http://www.lonelyplanet.com/italy/rome/restaurants/389519
    They love classic roman cuisine...

  13. Thank you for correcting my rusty Italian, Rosa and Verde. Let me change the title of the post right now. :)

If you didn't catch the name of the trattorie, it is 'da Enzo'.

Looks like you found it, Verde. It can also be found in the link I supplied in the main post.

  17. They went to the Vatican Museum:

  18. ...They bought toys and wine

    ReplyDelete
  19. Thanks for the link, Verde. I wonder if Nirvam.it is merely basing their story on the pics we've seen.

Even though it appears Jake and Reese were in a wine shop, they were actually in the Ducati Caffe.

The bag Jake is carrying out of the Ducati looks more like it contains something soft, like a tee shirt or something, which you can see him looking at here.

  20. Great video, FL! Love the soundtrack! :) Chris' blog is a really nice surprise. Thanks. I had a lot of fun wandering around the Trastevere neighborhood about eight years ago. Right after visiting the Vatican Museum. Someone I spoke to compared it to NYC's Greenwich Village. Can't vouch for that, tho.

You could spend weeks (We had about 48 hours)looking at the art treasures in the Vatican! I definitely want to go back.

Just went down to the kitchen to make sure I have every thing I need, and I'll be starting my spaghetti sauce shortly...:)

Don't they end the PR tour in Paris?

  21. Love the soundtrack! :)

I know! Wasn't that great?! The Italian soundtrack! The food! The atmosphere! I'm thinking I'll make some involtini di melanzana (eggplant rollups) today! Yummm!

  22. Just in case people were wondering what Keifer has been doing while Jake and Reese get all the media attention, especially in Rome, fear not, he's getting his own, out with his girlfriend.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I love that video, I feel like i'm learning a little Italian this morning!

I think Paris is the next and final stop for MVA.

I was at the supermarket earlier and I flipped through the latest Star with the latest J&R rumors. They claim that she was wearing the ring at a two-day photo shoot for Avon at Sony studios on 2/26 in Culver city. Took it off when everyone was staring.

I dismised this story at first because I thought it was some intern at Star putting the jewelery shopping in NY together with the Elle shoot and spinning the story but there seems to be actual specifics in the story.

Yeah I know it's the Star, just thought it was interseting.

  24. I pick up a very relaxed vibe from Keifer and Reese. Hope they have all been enjoying themselves as much as they are able between photocalls, interviews and "red carpeting." I'd be exhausted on their schedule!

    ReplyDelete
  25. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they're married. She doesn't seem to be hiding the ring anymore, if that story in Star is even true.

Their body language says "couple" loud and clear. I'm amused at some of the pictures of Jake hanging back. Their connectedness is obvious even if he were across the room.

  26. oh, nice stuff! Yummy on all counts!

Thanks for all the great pics and links, Jake and Reese look fantastic and the food/restaurants sound so good....mmmm.

I totally enjoyed Rome when I was last there but had trouble crossing the streets, lol.

    Have a great Saturday everyone...cio!

  28. It's okay, anon. Taken care of.

Thanks for the Itallian help, Rosa and Verde. We might need a French GBer to delurk next :)

  29. I get a relaxed vibe from Reese and Keifer too, MVA is a far cry from their last film together, Freeway.

Thanks for the translations Verde and I love the video! I'm getting hungry too, glad to see Reese and Jake getting a little time together during the PR tour for the film, I think they wil be in Paris tomorrow.

  30. Anon like I've said in past posts. Aries(Reese) and Sagittarius(Jake) are pretty much a perfect match. It doesn't surprise me they look so connected. Not to mention, they have a ton in common.

    ReplyDelete
  31. They are so in synch that you barely notice that she is walking right beside him here uunless i'm mistaken:

    http://img247.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=72472_017_122_341lo.jpg

She is so tiny that she can disappear walking next to him! Iswear I see her boots.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh! I noticed that last night, OONP. Can just see her boots walking beside him.

    ReplyDelete
  33. OMG. I just noticed that. You can barely see an outline of her legs and shoulders. BTW. Is this the same hat Jake was wearing in Madrid? Dang. I think they need to do a romantic comedy or a caper film/love story set in Italy.

The aroma of my Grandma's Italian sauce cooking is wafting...

  34. To FL:E' stato veramente un piacere dare un piccolissimo aiuto.Complimenti per la tua comprensione dell'italiano!

  35. OMGosh, all this talk of Italian food is really making my mouth water. Thank you Verdeblusum for the translation. I have a return trip to Rome next month and hope to visit more restaurants this time, especially the trattories.

Food and Love, what a combination. Maybe I'm a hopeless romantic but I'm fascinated by these two that they've found each other and it looks like the real thing to me. I like that 'connectedness' too, it's clear to see. Hope to see thim in more European cities.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thanks for confirming FL, I thought I was seeing things!!

I think this hat is a bit different looks grey, the one in Madrid looked black.

    ReplyDelete
  37. They must have some lovely memories returning to Rome, sigh.

I'm getting spoiled with these pictures, I love the "connectedness" of them too!

    ReplyDelete
  38. OONP, I did the same thing as you..... checked out the Star story while I was in line at Target. The specifics they mentioned (2 different on set sources saw the ring, it was Feb.26, R. was shooting an Avon commercial, etc.) makes me hesitant to dismiss the story out of hand. But I can be a little gullible, so......

It's funny that so many comments here are noting J & R's "connectedness"..... the most recent Rome pics really struck me as especially lovely and magical, but I couldn't figure out why exactly. Maybe it's simply that the photos have captured some of that deep connection they have. All I know is, for whatever reason, I love these Rome pics!

  39. We might need a French GBer to delurk next :)

I don't know if this was aimed at me or not, but I am around. I've just been so stressed and busy lately, that my visits are literally fly-bys.

I'd be exhausted on their schedule!

The wonderful thing about Europe is that its actually not that exhausting. The lifestyle is so easy-going and once you're on the continent is very easy to travel around. Especially considering the amount of wine involved (much of which I've been enjoying myself all afternoon).

  41. I'm exhausted just keeping up with the post/pictures of them in europe!

I love that video of them shopping in Rome. Thanks for the links and the translations!

I like that pic of them too monica, I also like the one of him pouring creme in her coffee, so sweet! I see he ditched the hat, I wonder if they will hit Lourdes before the premiere tomorrow??

  42. Grazie for the nice words, Verde. I try.

So it's arrivederci, Roma. Bonjour, Paree! I see. I'm exhausted. I haven't even finished my Italian cooking and now it's on to French cuisine? Mon dieu!
